Watch West Indies Vs. India Test Cricket Live Stream: Start Time, Preview Of 1st Test In Antigua As Caribbean Tour Opens

The India national cricket team opens a four-Test series against West Indies in Antigua on Thursday as the first Test will stream live with India needing a victory to hold on to their Number Two world ranking on the ICC Test table — but with West Indies also hungry for a win as they hope to continue what so far has been a year of resurgence for the Caribbean multi-nation cricket program.

India must not lose any one of the four Test matches in the West Indies over the coming month, and must win at least three, to hold on to their 112 points — with arch rival Pakistan nipping at their heels at 111 and already one win in the bank in their four-Test away series against England.

West Indies rank eighth on the nine-team table at just 65 points and need a major upset of India in the test series to move up the rankings after already recording a T20 World Cup championship in 2016.

The West Indies Under 19 squad also won the U19 Cricket World Cup, while the Windies women took home the World T20 women’s title as well.

And just last month, West Indies qualified for the final of their home 50-overs tri-nation series against Australia and South Africa, only to succumb to the World Cup holders from down under in the title match.

West Indies last faced India in a T20 match — the semifinal of the T20 Cricket World Cup in India, in a match won by the eventual champions from the Caribbean. Watch highlights of that thrilling match in the video below.

To find out how to watch a live stream of the West Indies vs. India First Test cricket match, see the streaming links at the bottom of this article. The Test match is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. Atlantic Standard Time at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, on Thursday, July 21. That start time is also 10 a.m. United States Eastern Standard Time, 7 a.m. Pacific.

West Indies has not managed to score a victory over India in a single Test match since 2002, when they won a five-Test series against visiting India 2-1 with a pair of draws. In 15 Test matches since then, West Indies have scraped out seven draws while losing to India five times. The two sides have not faced each other in a Test match since 2013.

What is expected to be a slow turning wicket in Antigua should give an advantage to India this time around as well, according to Sports Keeda, as the spin attack of Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra, and Ravindra Jadeja has already taken 16 wickets among them in two warm-up tour matches.

In their last outing as a Test side, easy December and January, West Indies dropped a three-Test series in Australia 2-0 — but were encouraged by their batting improvement and ability to force a draw in the final Test. But against India, they will need to shift gears to face the baffling deliveries of the India spinners.

“Transforming it now from Australia to West Indies will be a challenge,” West Indies all-rounder Carlos Braithwaite told ESPN CricInfo this week. “The pitches are slow here and the Indians will attack with spin, unlike Australia who went with pace. So it’s about being patient for us.”
