Calm Down, Internet: Zayn Malik Does Not Have A Gay Sex Tape
If you saw the seemingly innocent looking hashtag #GottaZayn trending on Twitter, then you should know that it contains a naughty rumor about the former One Direction singer.
The Zayn Malik sex tape rumors swirled on Tuesday afternoon, July 19, after an alleged video of the singer surfaced online. The video in question shows a man who looks like Malik performing a sex act on another man. The video has surfaced on the #GottaZayn hashtag, and it’s safe to say that the video is not safe for work.
Fans have been wondering if the man in the video is of Zayn. But instead of calling him Zayn, they referred to him as “Gotta Zayn,” which is slang for “gotta go” or “have to hurry,” according to Urban Dictionary. That’s because Zayn was quick to leave his boy band, One Direction, in the middle of their world tour, back in March 2015.
Some fans argued that the video wasn’t of Malik because the guy has noticeably different tattoos. The guy in the video has a tattoo of a pitchfork on his chest, while Malik has a tattoo of angel wings on his chest, as noted on the International Business Times. It should also be noted that Malik has a lot more tattoos than the guy since he’s gotten so many in such a short period of time.
While Zayn hasn’t responded to the sex tape, Gossip Cop says that he’s not the one featured in the gay sex tape. According to the report, Zayn’s tattoos don’t match the guy who’s featured in the risqué footage. Although both guys do rock similar nose piercings and hairstyles. There even seems to be some similarities when it comes to their facial features, but it’s clear that the video is not of him.
It should also be known that the man has already outed himself on his Twitter account. The anonymous man, who is from New Haven, Connecticut, appears to be a sex worker.

However, this isn’t the first time that Malik has been the center of sex tape rumors. Just last year, it was rumored that Malik was afraid of his sex tape leaking on the internet. According to The Mirror, it was reported that x-rated footage of the “Pillowtalk” singer was circulating on social media. It prompted Malik’s spokesperson to slam the rumors in a statement to Now Magazine.
“The story is completely fabricated. There is absolutely no truth to this whatsoever,” his rep said.
Zayn never commented on the rumors that were first published in the U.S. version of OK! Magazine. An alleged “close” friend of the musician told the publication that he feared that a provocative video of him partying naked with another woman could end up on the internet.
“Zayn’s heard there’s a sex tape going around of him naked and partying. He’s not sure if it’s legit, but thinks there’s a good chance it could be. He’s going out of his mind. Zayn is panicking. He’s already hanging by a thread with Perrie, and a racy video would be the end for them.”
Obviously, Malik’s career is not ruined because there is no sex tape. But, that doesn’t mean he’s a prude. With his good looks and charm, Malik has become sort of a sex icon in his own right. And he enjoys singing about sex. In his new interview with Paper, he revealed that most of the songs on his successful debut album, Mind of Mine, is about his sex life.
“It wasn’t a conscious decision to make [the album] sexual or refer to sex. But I just found out that a lot of situations that I was in were quite sexual situations – all of the time… I enjoyed singing about [sex], clearly.”
