Mariah Carey: Nick Cannon Says Battle Over Children Is Worst Part Of Divorce From Star

In December 2014, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon filed for divorce. Since that time, the separated couple has reportedly been on amicable terms and tried to raise their twin children as jointly as possible. Carey and Cannon even go so far as to celebrate special holidays as a family together.

However, there seems to have been a few bumps recently during the path to a final divorce between Mariah and Nick. During an interview, Cannon spoke about the worst part of the split and looming divorce from Mariah.

As International Business Times, UK relays, Cannon finds the visitation terminology to be ridiculous when it is his time with his children Moroccan and Monroe. He voiced his opinion of this while the America’s Got Talent host visited The Howard Stern Show.

“It’s kind of f****d up when time with your kids is considered visitations,” he said. “It’s unfair to the fathers in the situation. I’m just keeping it real…That’s pain, right there.”

The terminology clearly stings the talent, yet Nick made it known that he certainly cherishes each and every moment he gets to spend with his 5-year-old children.

“Everything shuts down when I’m with my kids,” he told Stern adding, “It’s their time [and] my house is like a big fun house. I have a candy store and slides…We’re just playing the whole time.” He continued, “But I’m also the most stern. I’m the disciplinarian, 100-percent. They know dad don’t play.”

The interview was given by Cannon at the radio show following rumors of drama being sparked between the two exes as they work towards a settlement and finalizing their divorce. Claims were being made that Nick Cannon was refusing to sign the papers, and he was delaying Mariah’s ability to go ahead with her planned summer wedding to billionaire James Packer. Cannon apparently even rapped about the infamous divorce and also referred to not being able to see his children as much as he’d like on the same track.

Regardless of these claims, and the lyrics to his recent rap tracks, Cannon has only praised his estranged wife, Mariah, when he speaks of her to the media. While chatting with E! News, the 35-year-old father of two had only positive things to say about Carey.

“Mariah and I are super cool. We talk every day,” he said, adding that he’s a “‘recurring character in the sitcom’ when he comes knocking at their door to pick up the kids.”

Nick has also been nothing but happy for Mariah since she found and became engaged to her new billionaire beau, James. He shared his sentiment about the couple and also noted that it would be great if all his exes would come into such a fantastic financial situation in their new relationships.

“To see her happy is outstanding. I love it!”[said Nick] before he jokingly added, “I wish all my exes [found] billionaires!”

As for the nuptials that are planned between Mariah and James, details are yet to be shared. Many had speculated that a summer wedding was in the cards, yet rumors then flew that the engagement was called off due to Nick. However, the wedding is still a go, just not as soon as was expected. This reportedly has nothing to do with Cannon, sources say. A friend of Mariah shared in June that the delay to wed simply has to do with the diva’s busy schedule.

360 Nobs shares the insider’s words.

“Mariah and James have not solidified anything yet because they have just been so busy. Although Mariah still wants to have an end of summer wedding in the Mediterranean, nothing has been booked solid.”
