Emily Blunt Shows Acting Chops On ‘Girl On The Train’ After Having Second Baby Girl

While most actresses take it slow after having their baby, Emily Blunt seems to do the opposite! Her pattern has been to speed up her career after giving birth. When she had her first baby daughter Hazel, she immediately threw herself into Edge of Tomorrow, making herself action movie hero in zero time. Now that she had her second baby girl, Violet, she is getting busy promoting Girl on the Train.

Girl on the Train is a psychological thriller in the line of Gone Girl, tracing the story of “Rachel Watson, an alcoholic divorcee who witnesses something strange happen on the night that a woman she sees every day from the window of her commuter train — Megan Hipwell (Haley Bennett) — is murdered,” according to TIME.

The new film is set to release in October, which means that Emily Blunt has a few months to spend with her new baby before she jets off to promote her new thriller.

She has been taking advantage of her down time by doing some family oriented activities with the help of her husband John Krasinski. Recently, they were seen attending the farmer’s market, going to a florist and doing errands.

John and Emily welcomed their second baby girl this past June. The proud father took it to Twitter to announce that they named their second daughter after a color as well.

“What better way to celebrate the 4th… than to announce our 4th family member!!!” John tweeted. “2 weeks ago we met our beautiful daughter Violet #Happy4th.”

Emily naturalized this year, which means that this traditional American holiday season must have been special for Krasinski household.

Shortly after the tweet, Emily Blunt hopped right back into the rhythm of things by going out to run errands and getting smaller things done. Her post baby bump look has been noted, surprising all her fans with her great sense of style. According to InStyle Magazine, the new mother of two “was spotted running errands in Los Angeles over the weekend, where she looked casual chic in a flowing dusty pink T-shirt and Citizens of Humanity raw hem skinny maternity jeans ($218; apeainapod.com).”

The workaholic that Emily Blunt is, Girl on the Train isn’t the only project that she is working on right now. Her next big movie has been sparking interest of both Broadway and Hollywood crowd – Mary Poppins!

Walt Disney Studios announced on Tuesday that Into the Woods star Emily Blunt would be taking over the part of the famous nanny in a sequel to the 1964 classic film, confirming the British actor’s long-heralded involvement,” reports the Guardian. “She was said to be the producers’ first choice. Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will also star as a new character, Jack, the street lamplighter.”

Lin-Manuel Miranda has said so himself that she will make an amazing Mary Poppins as she has the charm needed to sell the character.

Some of the other projects that she has lined up are playing Janis Joplin in her biopic, as well as providing her voice for many of the animated movies that her baby girls may really enjoy watching.

Despite all these things happening in her life, the 33-year-old actress didn’t forget to celebrate her sixth wedding anniversary with her ever-supportive husband John Krasinski. While they could not return to Italy, where they got married in a private ceremony, they probably got a chance to mark their milestone in a memorable way with Violet and Hazel.
