Kim And Khloe Kardashian: Are The Sisters Cyber Bullies Or Defending Each Other?

Kim and Khloe Kardashian are under fire for their roles surrounding the recently-leaked footage showing Taylor Swift and Kanye West having a conversation about her inclusion in the song “Famous” before the song was released. With sister Khloe Kardashian later getting into the war of words, is Kim and her sibling defending each other as the celebrities suggest, or are Kim and Khloe Kardashian practicing a form of cyber bullying?

The newest revelations in the Kanye West feud with Taylor Swift came Sunday as Kim Kardashian released the video footage on Snapchat following the July 17 edition of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The footage appeared to feature both Kanye West and Taylor Swift talking about the “Famous” lyrics about the two singers potential hook-up.

While the video showed Taylor Swift giving her blessing to the lyric, the pop icon took to Instagram Sunday to vehemently defended herself. “While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard,” Taylor Swift said. Further, the “Bad Blood” singer called the video Kim Kardashian released a form of “character assassination” and asked to be left alone in the future.

Us Magazine reported that Kim Kardashian made deliberate and calculated moves to release the Snapchat videos the same time that KUWTK featured the “Famous” video production as a key part of the show. While the release of the video in the short-term will hurt Taylor Swift, long-term effect could be felt by Kim, including painting the wife of Kanye West as a bully, branding expert Jasmine Sandler said.

“I think in the long run, it will wind up taking a negative toll on Kim’s brand. I think this is a form of bullying, and that Kim will come out looking like she’s trying to bully Taylor. I also believe age plays a role in this. Kim is much older than Taylor, and there’s the expectation that she is more mature and shouldn’t be getting into these fights with someone so much younger than she is.”

For her part, Kim Kardashian defended her actions. On her Twitter account, Kim Kardashian explained that she was only exposing the truth in the situation instead of attempting to bully Taylor Swift.

Khloe Kardashian immediately came to the defense for her sister after multiple celebrities — including close friends of Taylor Swift — offered their opinion on the the Taylor Swift video footage. One unlucky celeb was Chloe Grace Moretz, a 19-year-old actress that Khloe directly targeted after Moretz seemingly criticized Kim in a tweet Sunday night.

Khloe Kardashian seized the opportunity to attack the young actress, tweeting a graphic photograph that appeared to be Chloe Grace Moretz. In the two-part photo, the first image was clearly Chloe Grace Moretz during filming for Neighbor 2. The second image — which only showed the back side of the female in question — had the bikini bottom pulled back to reveal other parts of her anatomy. Khloe Kardashian asked rhetorically if the second image was the “hole” Chloe Grace Moretz was referring to in her initial tweet.

Khloe Kardashian was slammed and called a bullied by fellow actress Ruby Rose in response to that same tweet. The immense public reaction later forced Khloe to follow up her defense of Kim with a pair of tweets to defend herself.

Bustle called out Khloe Kardashian for the offensive tweet, suggested that Chloe Moretz actions didn’t warrant the response. The writer’s language suggested bullying — and not family defense — were the motives at play for this deliberate attack on the actress by Khloe.

“It’s not OK to use photos like that against someone, even if they are the person in the picture. And after how often Kardashian and her sisters have been the victims of slut shaming, it’s even more surprising that she would do something like this to someone else… It’s disgusting that Kardashian would share a photo of a woman caught in a vulnerable moment like this, and it’s just as much of a bummer that she has kept the tweet up even after Moretz corrected her, so this situation sucks all around.”
