WWE News: Wyatt Family Listed As Single Superstars And More Notes For WWE Draft

In just over 24 hours, the WWE brand split will become official, and Raw and SmackDown will separate once again. On SmackDown Live Tuesday evening, the WWE will hold its new draft. To the WWE Universe, this is a new development and something they haven’t seen in several years. For the new and young fans, they don’t know what a true brand split is like. That’s why on Tuesday evening, everything changes.

For those confused at how the WWE Draft will work this time around, WWE.compublished a set of rules and regulations for Tuesday’s festivities.

  • Raw has the first overall pick
  • Since SmackDown Live is a two-hour show and Raw is three hours, for every two picks SmackDown Live receives, Raw will receive three picks
  • Tag teams count as one pick unless a Commissioner/General Manager specifically only wants one member of the team
  • Six draft picks will be made off the NXT roster

Looking at the rules they announced, a few interesting quirks are mentioned right away. SmackDown Live is going to receive less picks than Raw. Obviously, since the show is longer, it only makes sense. Members of the WWE Universe are now beginning to speculate that both shows won’t be balanced, but talent will be spread around since two titles are presumably going to be a reality.

Vince McMahon doesn’t shy away from splitting up tag teams, especially when he infamously split up the Dudley Boyz and it ended up being a total disaster. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen again and Enzo and Big Cass remain a duo. That’s where the third rule will come into play. Lastly, the WWE NXT roster will lose six wrestlers. Speculation has already begun as to who they will be, but knowing the debut/non-debut of Finn Balor in the last four months, nobody truly knows.

Hidden inside the entire list from WWE.com are a few noteworthy items that deserve the attention of WWE fans. Daily Wrestling Newscompiled a list of such items, including the interesting note of the Wyatt Family.

Paul Heyman is not listed in association with Brock Lesnar.

– None of the talents currently out injured, which includes Nikki Bella, Emma and Luke Harper, are listed as eligible.

Kane is listed as Demon Kane.

The Wyatt Family members, Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman, are all listed as singles Superstars.

– The Lucha Dragons are listed as singles Superstars.

The Wyatt Family, who just completed a match against the New Day in their compound, aren’t listed together, which begs the question: Will the Wyatts be separated at the draft? In all honesty, Bray Wyatt is the only exciting part of the group. He is a future WWE champion. Luke Harper is an exceptional wrestler, but he is still rehabbing an injury at the moment. His return date is still questionable. Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan don’t have the star power to be on their own, at least not yet.

Overall, WWE fans are excited about the draft. Surveying Twitter just one day before the WWE Draft is highlighting that excitement.

As PWM put it simply, it’s time to shake things up. Will there be any surprises at the WWE Draft? The NXT superstars who will get that life-altering call-up certainly have to be excited about any opportunity. This will also give a chance to mid-card wrestlers on Raw to finally have a chance to shine on a new show with new priorities.

The one question everyone is thinking is how Roman Reigns will be utilized Tuesday night. He is still suspended but is still appearing at WWE Battleground on Sunday. There hasn’t been a rule change on his availability, but the WWE is still going with him suspended for now. A WWE analyst noted on Twitter that he could potentially interfere in the WWE title match Monday with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. If so, he has to be at the WWE Draft, right?
