One Direction Over? Harry Styles, Niall Horan Solo Careers Expected, According To X Factor Judge

One Direction is officially on a hiatus, which is expected to last about 18 months. However, with Harry Styles making a film and signing a rumored solo contract, fans don’t expect him to share the stage with Niall Horan again, and neither does an X Factor judge.

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson entered the British X Factor competition as solo acts, but ended up being put in a group that will become One Direction.

One judge from the show, Louis Walsh, does not believe the band will get back together. Walsh is close friends with Simon Cowell, who signed the successful boy band to his record label, which makes him a credible source.

According to UnRealityTV, when discussing One Direction and Niall Horan, Walsh states the following.

“Niall Horan was in the right place at the right time, he’s the luckiest guy in the world and he knows that. They made an awful lot of money but it’s over now for them and who’s going to have the solo career. I think Niall will do really well and Harry,” Louis said on Saturday Night With Miriam.

There is no mention of Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson solo careers but the two are expected to follow suit if One Direction are not coming back.

Niall Horan has several songwriting credits with One Direction, which may be a sign that the Irish singer can have a successful solo career.

Earlier this year, reports emerged that Niall Horan is working on solo material. Although no record deal similar to Harry Styles has not been announced.

According to MetroLyrics, In an interview when asked about his songwriting, Horan stated the following.

“I always like to — I’m not a very good lyricist, but I like to write chord patterns on the guitar. We wrote that song with Toby Gad. He wrote ‘If I Were A Boy,’ ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry,’ those kind of songs, so it’s a pleasure to work with people like that.”

CapitalFM reported that Niall Horan is working with a songwriter responsible for several of One Direction’s hits.

“Niall’s said to be working with Wayne Hector, the man behind One Direction hits like ‘Best Song Ever’, and it sounds like he’s PRETTY damned exciting about Niall as a solo superstar.”

“We are writing together but he wants to do it for himself and not other people are the moment,” Hector revealed to Daily Star. “We have no idea where we’ll end up.”

On the other hand, Harry Styles solo contract is reportedly worth $80 million in a record deal with Colombia.

There are no details about when Harry Styles solo records are expected to be released. Harry is currently filming Dunkirk, a Christopher Nolan movie about certain events during World War 2. It is considered a serious acting role, and Styles may launch a career out of it, depending on his performance and its success.

One Direction has released five successful albums in five years. The band has sold over 20 million albums and with the last album Made in the A.M also being a success, Harry Styles and Niall Horan have plenty of incentive to return to the band.

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik has forged a successful solo career with hit single “Pillowtalk” and a positively acclaimed album, Mind of Mine, released earlier this year.

Niall Horan, who is passionate about golf, started a golf management company. The One Direction band members have a personal combined wealth $41 million in 2013. Therefore, they all have the financial means to split apart and pursue other ventures.
