Jennifer Granholm Appeared On ‘The Dating Game’ In 1978 [Video]

Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm shot to internet stardom after her emphatic speech at the Democratic National Convention earlier this month. But that wasn’t the first time the politician has been in the spotlight.

In 1978, long before she started down the Governor’s path, she appeared in an episode of The Dating Game.

According to the Huffington Post, Granholm appeared on the classic game show as a 19-year-old bachelorette.

Granhollm was greeted with hoots and hollers as she walked out on stage, as host Jim Lange said:

“This lovely lady hails from British Columbia. The multi-talented and multi-titled beauty queen is currently working in the public relations field. She loves the arts and the outdoors. Let’s have a hand for the cute and curvaceous Jennifer Granholm.”

The Detroit Free Press reports that the video was posted by one of the losing contestants. And yes, Granholm has seen it. And yes, she think’s its pretty embarrassing.

The former Governor said:

“I’m still laughing so hard my stomach still hurts.”

Granholm isn’t the only famous face to make an appearance on The Dating Show. Farrah Fawcett, Suzanne Somers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Tom Selleck have all been contestants on the 70s game show.
