Kim Kardashian Confirms ‘Legit’ National Snake Day—What Is This All About?

Kim Kardashian has just found out that there’s a National Snake Day and she wishes everybody to have “holidays” for the event.

It may be a known event for some people, but Kim Kardashian has just raised awareness on the reptile-focused event. According to Calendar Labs, the event is an “obscure holiday with unclear origins.” However, this event is special for wildlife enthusiasts.

The event is a gathering for virtual and physical members who are interested in bringing their snakes and art forms to show to other passionate hobbyists.

The snake fandom can date back to 1967, when the first snake farm was created in Texas. After the launch of the farm, snake-petting was brought to popular culture, and they were even introduced in the Ramones song.

World Snake Day is a one-off highlight of the year for NGOs who are very passionate in conserving these reptiles. This event is being highlighted in different forms like public announcements, local events, and fundraising causes.

Thanks to Kim Kardashian, these foundations now have a bigger spotlight this year.

Kim Kardashian Causes and Charity

It may just be a simple acknowledgement, but Kim Kardashian’s shout out to the snake preservation community has raised public awareness on the matter. But, this is not the first time Kim Kardashian has used her wide popularity for good.

According to LooktotheStars.org, Kim Kardashian has been a part of Dream Foundation. She has donated her clothes to raise money for the charity. She also went to Africa for the Russell Simmon’s Diamond Empowerment Fund and shared her trip to everyone via her blog.

Since Caitlyn Jenner is very active in the Special Olympics, Kim Kardashian said she was exposed to these events.

“Giving back and helping others in need has been a way of life!”

Kanye West’s wife also encourages people to give. She said that giving is “the most heart warming feeling in the world!”

The 10 Percent Charity Backlash

Because Kim Kardashian is very open about her charity work, people have been doubting her donation amounts.

According to Huffington Post, the reality star has been under fire since at least 2013, when she posted a blog entitled, “Giving Comes From The Heart.” The blog noted that she has been providing 10 percent of the proceeds of her eBay auction to the International Medical Corps (IMC), a non-profit focusing on helping the Philippine region affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

In her response, Kardashian noted that IMC is not the only charitable cause she reaches out to.

The problem comes in when I get attacked for giving and trying to help people. My dad always taught me the importance of giving back. I don’t publicize everything I do to help charities and people all over the world. I do it because I want to. I do it because my dad taught me to. I do it because it’s the right thing to do. So for people to attack me for giving 10% of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts.

E! News defended the star and confirmed that Kim Kardashian actually donates 10 percent of “everything” she earns from the TV shows, to the clothing lines and to ad promotion deals. They said that she has been doing this since the very beginning.
