Katy Perry’s Single ‘Rise’ To Be Remixed By Calvin Harris? Don’t Count On It

Katy Perry has been riding high off the success of her surprise new single “Rise” for the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio. The singer is also feeling pretty good after Calvin Harris slammed her archenemy Taylor Swift on Twitter.

According to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, Katy Perry, 31, may want to bank on the success of her new song by asking Calvin Harris, 32, to remix it. That would be the biggest diss towards Swift, 26, who she used to be good friends with.

It may not happen though because Calvin and Katy have had some bad blood when it comes to their working relationship. According to a Daily Mail report from 2011, Katy and Calvin were involved in a feud after the Scottish DJ pulled out of her U.K. shows. Calvin was scheduled to open for Katy during those shows, but cancelled at the last minute after the two couldn’t see eye to eye when it came to the set arrangements.

She took to Twitter to post, “Calvin Harris will NOT be joining in on the fun and has CANCELLED last minute.”

Then, Harris responded, “Sorry to all who wanted to see me with Katy – her team suddenly moved the goalposts and I was to appear on stage with no production.”

Perry fought back, writing, “The goalpost seems to be perfectly fine for New Young Pony Club, Yelle, Robyn, Marina & The Diamonds, to name a few. Or how about Janell [sic] Monae and her 16 piece band… It’s fine, I’m used to you cancelling on me, it’s become your staple!”

After the two went back and forth, Harris complimented Perry. He then apologized, writing, “I’m really sorry @katyperry I’m just upset because I really wanted to play but ur team made it impossible. We tried really hard to sort it out, but playing side of stage for 30 mins, it seemed pointless me even being there. Didn’t intend to cause offence or upset anybody.”

It seems like the two artists are totally cool with each other now. Calvin sided with Katy when he took to Twitter to reveal that Taylor’s PR team has been dragging him through the mud.

“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do,” the 32-year-old tweeted, according to a report via Us Weekly. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy [Perry] ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”

Perry then coyly responded to Harris’ Twitter rant with a GIF of Hilary Clinton. She has been heavily campaigning for the presidential hopeful all throughout the election. The GIF shows Clinton looking speechless but smiling in agreement. Then, Perry retweeted her post from May 9, 2015, which read, “Time, the ultimate truth teller.”

Although Katy’s glad that Calvin addressed her ongoing feud with the pop princess, she has no interest in writing a diss track anytime soon. An alleged inside source told Hollywood Life that Katy doesn’t even want to waste her time writing about someone she doesn’t like. That will be disappointing for Katy’s own fans who have been looking forward to her upcoming album and the rumored diss track that’s said to be registered on the website BMI.
