Kansas Mom Gives Birth To 3 Sets Of Twins Without Fertility Drugs In Just Over 2 Years

Kansas mom Danesha Couch just had her third set of naturally conceived twins in just over two years, Inside Edition reports. She recalls the moment her doctor told her that she was expecting twins for the second time. “I couldn’t believe it,” Couch said.

Danesha remembers being hysterical and overwhelmed but said she “put her mom pants” and managed her four children the best she could. Imagine her shock a year later when her doctor told her she was expecting another set of twins — making it her third set of twins in just over two years.

“I was completely unprepared. I mean, I was prepared — I had the clothes and everything else — but mentally, I was not prepared. It took me a couple of months to accept.”

Danesha is the proud mother to 1-month-old Dalanie and Darla; 1-year-old Deliah and Davina; and 2-year-old Danarius.

Her 2-year-old son, Danarius, was a twin, but his brother, Desmond, passed away minutes after birth. Her 2-year-old was born weighing just over two pounds and stayed in the NICU for three months. He fought hard to become the rambunctious toddler that his family knows today.

Danesha says, “He’s a daredevil and so curious about everything. He is also our fighter because, against all odds, he survived his birth and first few months. He’s a great big brother. He has someone to play with, which he loves. Especially because his twin brother is no longer here with him.”

Couch has five children under the age of three years old. Danesha’s days at home are full of action and chaos. Danesha worked until she gave birth to her latest children one month ago. Having five children to care for her husband, Jeff decided that it was time for her to be a full-time mother.

“I’m always picking something up, picking food up, or changing a diaper. I would assume I change about 36 diapers per day.

Danesha is lucky because she has the support of her family and neighbors, and someone is always willing to come over and pitch in if she needs an extra set of hands. And it helps that her children are pretty well-behaved, too.

The odds of having three sets of twins are pretty rare, but Couch’s doctor explained that she had an increased risk of twins because she releases more than one egg per month. All three sets of twins are fraternal, which means they came from different eggs and had their own placenta and sac during pregnancy.

Danesha explains that she had no plans for any more children right now. She says that her children keep her busy all day. She wakes up and stays active until she goes to sleep at night. She explains she isn’t sure how she could fit in another child (or two) in their busy lives.

“I love babies, but maybe in 10-15 years, when the kids are big enough to pitch in and help out, ” Danesha said while laughing.

As you can imagine, her diaper and laundry bill is pretty high. Due to her family size, the hospital urged Couch to apply for government assistance. She was denied because her husband makes too much money. Instead, she started a GoFundMe page to help with the financial burden of diapers, formula, and wipes for her five children, Fox 4 KC reports.

Danesha Couch said that her only regret about having her newest set of twins is timing. She thanks God for allowing her to have her children because there are women that would do anything to be able to bring in one life into the world, let alone five in two years.
