‘Suits’ Season 6 The End? Patrick J. Adams Speaks

Will Suits Season 6 be the end of the lawyer drama? Patrick J. Adams, who plays Mike Ross, shared his thoughts on the idea. Aaron Korsh has also spoken out about the decision of when to bring the show to the end.

According to showrunner Korsh, Suits Season 5 was potentially going to be the end. The original thought was that Mike going to prison would bring it all to an end, since there would be no more story to tell. However, Korsh admits that it wouldn’t have been fair on the viewers, who have stuck through the legal drama this whole time. He needed to tell the story of Mike being in prison and what it meant for the people left behind at Pearson Specter Litt.

Adams says that he doesn’t know if Season 6 will be the end. The Suits star is simply going with the flow and admits that only the writers know the actual plan. The writers tend to keep the details away from the cast since the actors don’t really need to know all the plans for the show. According to Digital Spy, Adams says that while the cast doesn’t have any clue on the end, they do all enjoy working together, which he believes isn’t normal for a show that has been running for as long as Suits has.

“Not being the writer of the show, the cast don’t really know the direction that they’re taking it in.”

Suits premiered its sixth season this week, which is unusual for a summer show. When it first aired, it was created as a filler show and everyone expected it to have a short run. The show was deemed good enough for the break but wouldn’t have stood up against many of the others in the fall schedules. Other shows have seen similar success by airing outside of the usual popular scheduling, like Pretty Little Liars and Game of Thrones.

Adams does say that while he doesn’t know when the show will come to an end, he would like to see it continue. The stories would need to remain interesting, which is certainly a possibility with the latest season. After five years of Mike being a faux lawyer at the firm, Suits now sees him behind bars after pleading guilty to fraud. It is time for him to survive in prison, while the others pick up the pieces of a law firm with no employees.

“If that happens, I think there’s always room for us to keep going – but ultimately it’s up to them and how excited they are to keep the story moving along.”

In the latest trailers for Suits Season 6, Jessica tells Harvey and Louis that the firm is being sued by anybody who dealt with Mike Ross. Harvey says that he was the one who got them into the mess and feels so guilty that he needs to get them out. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Donna will help him deal with his emotions, as he also tries to help Mike.

There were fears earlier this year when fans heard that Gina Torres had signed up for a new pilot. The actress plays firm boss Jessica and has been a strong female lead on TV over the last five years. Getting rid of her could mean the end of the show, as many fans follow the actress to her new show. Adams says that he may not have any scenes with Torres, but the actress is in plenty of scenes in the first eight episodes of Suits Season 6, at least. She will also be in the two episodes after that, as she works with Harvey to try to save Mike.

Suits Season 6 continues on USA on Wednesday nights, at 9 p.m. This week, Mike will make an enemy and could face some sharp consequences, if the trailer below is anything to go by.
