‘Bachelorette’ JoJo Fletcher Duped By Robby Hayes? Robby’s Arrest Record, Recent Breakup Raises Red Flags Before Final Rose Ceremony

Robby Hayes is one of four men who will go on a hometown date with Bachelorette contestant JoJo Fletcher on Episode 8 (July 18), but a combination of his recent breakup with his girlfriend and past legal issues will force JoJo to rethink her relationship with the 27-year-old Florida-based sales rep.

What’s the scoop on Robby’s arrest, did he really leave his girlfriend of four years to become a Bachelorette contestant, and what does Robby’s mother say that has him worried that JoJo will doubt his honesty?

[Warning: Bachelorette Season 12 spoilers ahead]

On Monday night, JoJo will visit Robby and his family in Florida. In the video below that was recently released by Yahoo!, Robby’s mother talks to him about his breakup with his ex, Hope Higgenbotham — something that Robby claims happened four months before taping for the Bachelorette started.

His mother reveals that Hope’s roommate has been spreading the word that Robby left the relationship to go on the show and he fears that he will lose JoJo’s trust since she has already questioned his true intentions on the show during conversations on past episodes.

It is not clear if Robby will address his 2012 arrest — or if producers will tell JoJo about it — but it’s just one more issue that could put a strain on Robby’s relationship with JoJo.

According to Radar Online, Hayes was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and careless driving. The police report states that Robby’s “speech was slurred” when he was pulled over and his car was released to his ex-girlfriend, Hope Higginbotham.

The officer reportedly tried to get him to perform a field sobriety test but he refused because the “exercises would trick him” and “because of the weather.” Robby lucked out – his lawyer was able to get the DUI charges dropped in September 2013.

Robby didn’t hold back this season when it came to professing his love for JoJo Fletcher, telling her he was in love with her on their first one-on-one date in Uruguay.

It was an early warning sign for the Bachelorette, who questioned his intentions early-on in the season, but JoJo kept him around and he continued to tell her he was in love with her whenever he managed to get alone time with her

According to Reality Steve, Robby did not scare JoJo off with his premature “I love you” on their first date — he makes it through the hometown dates with a rose. He is one of three guys who get to travel to Thailand for the overnight dates where he will spend the night with JoJo in Fantasy Suite.

Although Robby makes it far this season — right to the Final Rose ceremony as one of JoJo’s final two guys — the teaser video from ABC (below) hints at JoJo’s heartbreaking decision to send Robby home on the season finale.

Although some fans think that JoJo is talking to Jordan Rodgers in the video clip above, Reality Steve is confident that she is talking to Robby minutes before she sends him home.

Despite his repeated denials that he didn’t break up with his ex-girlfriend Hope Higgenbotham to come on the Bachelorette, JoJo heads to the final rose ceremony convinced that Robby is not there for the right reasons.

Considering a previous report from the Inquisitr states that Robby tried to pay off Bachelor in Paradise stars Jade and Tanner Tolbert to promote him on their Instagram account, it sounds like JoJo’s made a smart decision sending Robby home when the season finale was taped in May.

Find out if the spoilers are correct and how things play out for Robby and JoJo when the three-hour Bachelorette season finale airs on August 1 at 8 p.m. ET. on ABC.
