Kris Jenner On Lamar Odom After Plane Incident: ‘I Adore Him’

In the wake of rumors that Kris Jenner forced daughter Khloe Kardashian to move on from Lamar Odom, the Kardashian family matriarch only had kind words to say about her estranged son-in-law.

While talking to Australian radio show Kylie and Jackie O Friday, Jenner raved about Odom, repeatedly calling him “the best.”

“All I can say is I just want the very best for him because he’s like my son. He’s a part of my family and I adore him. He’s the best. He’s the best! He’s the greatest guy in the world and anybody that knows him will tell you the same thing.”

Jenner’s comments came just days after reports surfaced that the former Los Angeles Laker was drunk when he boarded an airplane. Odom allegedly threw up on the plan and was subsequently removed from the flight.

“I don’t know what happened. It was a big surprise to me,” Jenner said of the airplane incident. “All I can say is I just want the very best for him because he’s like my son.”

The reports of intoxicated behavior by Odom have steadily increased in recent days, which is concerning to some, given Lamar’s history with drug and alcohol abuse. Back in October, the former NBA player was found unconscious in a Las Vegas-area brothel. There, Odom reportedly spent three days before he was said to have overdosed on a dangerous mixture of sexual-performance-enhancing drugs and cocaine. When he was discovered, reports indicated that doctors have given him a 50 percent chance at survival.

After the incident, estranged wife Khloe Kardashian rushed to Odom’s side and helped nurse the former love of her life back to health. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star spent days and nights at Odom’s hospital bedside in Las Vegas before she ultimately moved him to Los Angeles. Once he was released from the Los Angeles hospital, some reports indicated that Lamlam moved in with Khloe while he continued his rehabilitation.

Even though Kris Jenner has watched Khloe Kardashian put her heart and soul into helping Lamar recover, Jenner told the Kylie and Jackie O show that she can’t judge Odom based on the recent headlines.

“You just want the best for anyone that you love. think that what I have learned through all of this is that anybody who’s struggled with addiction, it’s a disease and I’ve learned a lot…You can’t judge somebody else unless you’re really walking in their shoes and that’s what I’ve learned.”

Odom and Kardashian had filed for divorce prior to the brothel incident, but shortly after Lamar was admitted to the hospital, Khloe withdrew her divorce petition. The action made some question whether Khlomar could ever happen again, and Khloe herself added fuel to the fire when she admitted on her short-lived talk show that remaining married to Odom would be her “best dream.”

In the time since, however, Kardashian has made it clear that she and Odom are not involved romantically, and in May, Kardashian filed for divorce a second time.

Khloe and Lamar were married in 2009 after a whirlwind romance. During that time, the couple had their own reality TV show, dealt with issues of infertility, and according to Khloe, struggled with Lamar’s infidelity and drug use. The couple filed for divorce (for the first time) in 2013.
