Beyoncé’s Formation Tour Tickets: Fan Is ‘Devastated’ Over Tour Ticket Debacle

Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour may not kick off until September, but the series of concerts are already causing quite a stir. From the Jay-Z “Lemonade” cheating scandal to her opinionated views on politics and race, Queen Bey has been attracting quite a lot of attention lately. It looks like another mishap may be in the works, this one regarding Beyoncé’s Formation Tour.

According to the Telegraph, South African photographer Tammy (last name omitted) purchased tickets for Beyoncé’s Formation Tour on Saturday, July 2. However, it wasn’t until she was on her way to the show on Sunday, July 3, that she realized her Beyoncé tickets were for the earlier date.

Needless to say, this caused quite the hullabaloo. Tammy made several desperate appeals to TicketMaster U.K. and Bey herself via Twitter before she finally got an answer. Ticketmaster also apologized for not having responded earlier because they were closed at the time the tweets were sent. Beyoncé did not reply.

So, what was the resolution of this issue? Ticketmaster doesn’t seem to have done much other than apologize for their untimely response. However, several users did take to Twitter and ask for help for Tammy, while others took the opportunity to be typical internet users and make fun of her mistake. Also fun to note: the anonymous-ish woman was intoxicated at the time of this event.

Elite Daily cataloged the woman’s journey, noting that she reached out to Ticketmaster and Beyoncé herself, but ultimately got neither new Formation Tour tickets nor compensation. Most likely, Beyoncé was too busy actually touring to answer a tweet about said tickets. In all fairness, at least Tammy tried to get new Beyoncé tickets as opposed to demanding she be apologized to for her folly.

The tour tickets were $65 each, and Tammy had been planning to take her husband and their son. The Formation Tour occurred at England’s Wembley Stadium, apparently one day after poor Tammy thought it did. Ticketmaster’s official Refund & Exchange Policy notes that the company will not refund or exchange tickets for events happening less than seven days in the future. Even if the people Tammy talked to were sympathetic, they likely could not have done much of anything.

Tammy had purchased the Beyoncé tickets on the Ticketmaster Mobile App while on a train, and noticed that they seemingly disappeared the day she was planning on using them. After checking the app, Tammy realized the Formation Tour tickets were listed under “Past Events” and were now inactive.

The woman took to Twitter to report that her husband sang Beyoncé’s hit song “Single Ladies” to her while they visited a tourist attraction called the London Dungeons (not real dungeons, luckily). So, in a sense the conflict had a happy ending. We think the “Sweet Dreams” songstress herself would be proud.

The Sun found that Tammy wasn’t concerned about the refund and only wanted to see Queen Bey in action. There is good news for Tammy and her family, though; LiveNation recently released thousands more tickets for the remaining legs of Beyoncé’s Formation Tour.

The Formation Tour has taken Beyoncé all over Europe as well as North America, where she has performed hits such as “Run The World (Girls),” “Irreplaceable,” and of course, “Formation.” BET cracked that “DJ Khaled’s rates are going up–again” after learning the hip-hop/rap artist was opening for Bey on the Formation World Tour.

Bey released the tour’s titular song on Tidal, the streaming music service formed by hubby Jay-Z and other huge names in music. It has already scored several accolades, including the BET Award for Viewer’s Choice, BET Award For Video of The Year, and the BET Centric Award, the latter of which recognizes individual artists and songs. Let us know what you think of Tammy’s predicament below. Should Beyoncé and co. or Ticketmaster have done more, or is it Tammy’s fault for losing her tickets?
