‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Theories: Which New Houses Will Stand Out?

Game of Thrones Season 6 killed off a large number of the current cast, but there are plenty others waiting in the wings to take their place. House Tyrell may be pretty much gone, but here are some of the new houses that will likely stand out, according to many Game of Thrones Season 7 theories.

House Tarly will need to take center stage at some point in the new season. Seen briefly in Season 6, Samwell left his childhood home with Gilly and Little Sam in tow. Not only that, but he took one of the only Valyrian steel swords left in Westeros. The sword was later seen in the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale, when Samwell finally reached the Citadel.

Randyll will definitely not be happy about Sam stealing the family sword. While technically it belongs to his eldest son, Sam forfeited all his claims when he joined the Night’s Watch. The rights to the sword would go to his younger brother. Sam may know that the sword is important in the fight against the White Walkers, but Randyll doesn’t believe in them. He’ll just want the sword back because of what it is and not what it can do.

House Greyjoy will also play a major role in Thrones Season 7. While they didn’t have big parts in the Season 6 finale, Yara and Theon Greyjoy were seen sailing to Westeros with Daenerys’ fleet. They had left the Iron Islands to protect their lives because their uncle, Euron Greyjoy, had become king and wanted them dead.

Euron had plans to marry Dany and help her take the Iron Throne—mainly for his own gain. He will be extremely angry that Yara and Theon managed to build an alliance with her instead, especially if theories that Dany and Yara will form a sexual relationship are right. Euron is out for revenge, and he will likely come up against Dany’s fleet and the dothrakis at some point. There are theories that Euron and Cersei will marry instead, making Dany’s plan much harder.

House Reed may become more important in Season 7, potentially with the current Howland Reed finally being shown. Howland has only been seen in the flashbacks to the Tower of Joy, but wasn’t seen in the Season 6 finale when Ned Stark finally learned of Lyanna’s son—and Bran along with everyone else found out that Jon really is Lyanna’s son.

Meera Reed has been an important part in Bran’s storyline, and may now call on her family to help them as Bran becomes the Three-Eyed Raven. She may also find out details about her own life that she hadn’t known before. Some people still believe that Meera is Jon’s twin, although it looks like that isn’t the case with the Tower of Joy flashback in the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale.

Finally, the Week believes that House Mormont is going to take a step forward in importance in Game of Thrones Season 7. This is certainly likely, considering the way Lyanna Mormont stepped forward as a strong leader, despite her age. She has helped rally everyone behind Jon, King of the North, and will likely be a strong voice for him as he becomes more comfortable with this role.

It is also possible that this will tie into Jorah Mormont’s currently storyline. He was last seen looking for a cure for his disease after saving Dany again. Could he come back to Westeros to find out what Stannis did to Shireen?

Game of Thrones may have aired its Season 6 finale last month, but theories have already started on the next season. It has not even started filming yet! These are just the houses that could take a step forward with the way storylines finished in the Game of Thrones finale.
