Kathy Wakile Not Happy With Teresa Giudice These Days: ‘I Found It Offensive’
Kathy Wakile was once a full-time housewife on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Not only was she related to Teresa Giudice, but she was also interested in launching her own business and really focus on her desire to make luscious desserts. Kathy decided that she wanted to focus on her family and when Teresa’s legal problems started taking over the story on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, she became a friend of the wives. But Kathy will make an appearance on this season of the show, as Wakile and her sister Rosie Pierri sit down with Teresa, who says she’s ready to cut out the cancer in her life.
According to a new Bravo report, Kathy Wakile is now speaking out about this cancer comment, and she isn’t too happy about it. Of course, the Bravo producers could have edited the clip to make it seem like Teresa is saying it directly to Kathy and Rosie as if they are the cancer she wants to cut out. But since they are family, one can imagine she isn’t talking to them. But Kathy was still rattled by the comment. As it turns out, Kathy hasn’t really talked to Teresa since she returned home from prison, but it isn’t because she hasn’t tried.
“Have I talked to them? Well, I’ve sent them texts. Yeah, I think I’ve gotten a response from Melissa [Gorga]. I don’t think I’ve gotten any response from Teresa,” Kathy said during an appearance on Reality Checked With Amy Phillips this week, according to Bravo.
Maybe things didn’t go well during the lunch, where Teresa told them both that she wanted to cut out the cancer. Even if she wasn’t talking to them specifically, she may have used the wrong word choice. Kathy Wakile reveals that she lost her father to cancer, so to use such a wording with her doesn’t sit well. When Amy asked her what this “cutting out the cancer” means, Wakile didn’t really have an answer.
“Do you ever know what she means? You know what, I found it offensive and I had to stay focused of my mission for that lunch and it wasn’t to fight and she had been through so much and I wasn’t going to fight,” Kathy told Amy, adding, “I have a lot of cuts in my tongue [from] constantly biting it. So I just had to put that out there, how do you even say something like that to me? You know my father died of cancer. I have a daughter that has suffered two brain tumors. How do you talk like that to me? My daughter, thank God, she’s great [and] she’s fine; hers were benign. But how do you even talk like to me? How do you say that? So, it took a lot of restraint to just keep focus of what the mission was of that lunch and it was to try and smooth things out and try and be supportive, that’s all.”
During her promotion tour, Wakile also stopped by Bethenny Frankel’s radio show, B Real With Bethenny, where she asked them some directed questions. According to Reality Tea, Frankel wanted to know if Kathy Wakile had only returned to the show for the sake of the money or really done so out of concern for Teresa. And Wakile admits that she’s both on the show for money and to promote her business. She reveals that she has a lot of fun when she’s filming with her immediate family and that the money isn’t bad either. In other words, if Kathy Wakile returns as a full-time housewife, it could be to promote her business or for the money. Don’t expect her to come back, only to be there for Teresa.
