‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’: Kim Kardashian West Defends Kanye West From Taylor Swift ‘Famous’ Backlash

Could Calvin Harris’ call-out of Taylor Swift finally exonerate the “Famous” Kanye West?

In an interestingly timed promo for the July 17 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, is seen defiantly going after the “Blank Space” singer for continuing to fan the flames of the supposedly dead feud between she and Kanye that began back at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

“I never talk s**t about anyone publicly,” an exasperated Kim expresses to her younger sister, Kourtney, in the preview, “especially in interviews, but I’ve just had it. I just felt like I wanted to defend him.”

The interview in question is one Kardashian recently did with GQ, where she revealed, among other things, that Swift and West had squashed their issues long before he ever recorded the now-infamous The Life of Pablo track. Furthermore, she shared that her husband had actually called Taylor personally to let her know that she would name dropped on “Famous,” and that there was video proof of said conversation.

“She totally approved that,” Kim told the popular men’s tome. “She totally knew that [‘Famous’] was coming out, [but] she wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much s**t for things, [when] he really [went through the] proper protocol to get it approved. What [other] rapper would call a girl that he was rapping a line about to get approval?”

Kardashian’s comments from both the GQ sit-down — which backs up a Twitter rant that Kanye went on following Taylor’s bashing of him at this year’s Grammys — and the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clip, is just the latest piece of an ongoing puzzle that was first put together by dance DJ Calvin Harris on Wednesday. As noted on the Inquisitr, the Swedish-born music maker alleged that Swift has a habit of manipulating the media in order to keep her name and image as pristine as possible. Interestingly, one of Taylor’s noted enemies, singer Katy Perry, has since added her stamp of approval to Harris’ mention by sharing an old Twitter post of hers that reads, “time, the ultimate truth teller.”

Also in the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clip, Kim makes mention of the 2016 Grammys, where she alleges that Taylor promised to reveal that she had been in on the making the “Famous” since the very beginning.

“She [said], ‘as soon as I get on that Grammy red carpet, I’m going to tell all the press that I was in on it.'”

“[Maybe] she just didn’t like the reaction [that people had of ‘Famous’],” Kourtney queries.

“Just another way to play the victim,” Kim counters back.

Despite her feelings of the entire ordeal, Kardashian does admit that Kanye took things too far when he stepped up on the stage to stop Taylor from accepting her VMA back in 2009, but in her eyes, enough is enough.

“Yeah, Kanye definitely hurt her years ago when he did that, but it wasn’t meant to be personal,” she explains. “It could have been anyone, ’cause we all know that ‘Single Ladies’ was the biggest song of [that] year so I think when [Beyonce] didn’t win, he just wanted to stand up for it.”

“I just don’t think that he should be punished for it still to this day,” Kim adds.
