Luann de Lesseps On Thomas: ‘I Understand Why Some Of The Girls Are Concerned’

Luann de Lesseps has been dating on and off since her divorce from the Count on a previous season of The Real Housewives of New York. For a long time, de Lesseps was linked to a businessman named Jacques, but they weren’t really moving in a direction. He wasn’t proposing, and they weren’t necessarily planning a future. Luann had started looking into fertility in hopes of having another baby with Jacques, but the two eventually broke things off. Now, Luann is happily engaged to a new man and the wedding is already this year.

According to a new Bravo report, Luann de Lesseps is now revealing that she does understand why some of the ladies are a bit concerned about her rushed decision to get married. She met Thomas D’Agostino in November around Thanksgiving. The two were engaged in February, and it sounds like the wedding will happen on New Year’s Eve, just a few weeks after their one-year anniversary of meeting. And some of the housewives are a bit concerned that Luann is rushing the engagement and the relationship. Why the rush?

“I understand why some of the girls are concerned about me getting engaged to Tom so quickly after meeting him, but in my 50 years I’ve kissed a few toads, and I know when I’m in love. I was married for 16 years, and I have two beautiful children, and I don’t I commit unless I’m sure. When I’m in, I’m in for the long run,” Luann de Lesseps explains in her blog for The Real Housewives of New York, revealing that she has no plans of leaving the relationship once she’s committed to one person.

Of course, Ramona Singer and Bethenny Frankel have both been very vocal about the relationship, questioning why de Lesseps is so rushed in getting married again. But Luann doesn’t really listen to her co-stars, as she doesn’t feel like they are happy for her.

“Ramona is the most outspoken about not rushing into marriage, but she’s been divorced only a short time while I’ve been single for some time. She continually insinuates that I ‘stole’ Tom from his date the night I met him! You can’t steal a man. Tom and I had been single and dating for a while, so when we met, we knew there was a very special connection between us. Marriage is a very serious commitment, and Tom and I come from families that strongly value marriage,” Luann de Lesseps points out.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Luann has “stolen” a man from someone. A few seasons ago when Harry Dubin and Sonja Morgan attended a party together, de Lesseps did talk to Harry and they ended up leaving in a car together. Shortly after that, Harry presented a ring to Sonja as a promise ring. No word on what really happened that night, but Luann de Lesseps insists that they only took a cab together to get away from the party. And it sounds like things are heating up between her and Thomas, as they are now getting the families involved, so everyone knows everyone for the December wedding.

“Tom has met all of my family, and my children adore him. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time with his parents. I love them and they love me,” Luann points out in her blog for Bravo.

Thomas has previously spoken out about his former relationships with both Sonja and Ramona. According to Bravo, he revealed that his relationships with both women were short and nothing even worth mentioning. The ladies have different stories, as Ramona claims she dated him several times and Sonja says they were friends with benefits for several years.
