‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 7: Who Comes To The Liars’ Rescue And Who’s Back In Rosewood? [Spoilers]

Pretty Little Liars Season 7 continued where last week left off. The Liars had to scramble to cover their tracks after accidently killing Elliot Rollins with a car. In the end, an unexpected someone came to their rescue, as another person made their return.

Caution: this article contains spoilers, so if you haven’t seen this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars yet then you may not want to read on! You have been warned.

Surprise! Mona was the one to come to their rescue at the very beginning. Before they could do anything, she managed to get Hanna’s windshield fixed and told them all about Elliot’s burner phone. This was some foreshadowing for the events that were coming next.

When they got back to the Radley and discussed their alibis, a familiar face made a return. Pretty Little Liars Season 7 was promised to be the season of homecomings, and this particular face was confirmed during the break between the seasons. Jenna is back, supposedly for Toby’s engagement, but she knows a lot about Rosewood. Who’s been keeping her up to date?

A phone call to Elliot’s burner phone makes it clear that Jenna was in touch with him at some point. It also turns out that his name wasn’t Elliot after all. He stole the identity of a deceased doctor, and his real name is Archer Dunhill. Is it possible that he is the mysterious A.D. working both sides? Does Mary King know his real identity? Did Charlotte know who he really was?

Since his death, there are so many more questions, and it looks like difficult to get some answers. Toby has stepped in to help piece together everything and find out who he really is. He was the one to find out that the real Dr. Elliot is dead and will do some digging to find out what really happened to him. He’ll also need to find out who Archer is and how he managed to take over the doctor’s identity.

Bustle recommends that people don’t jump to the conclusion that Archer is A.D. just yet. It could just be a coincidence and a red-herring, very much like many of the other clues shared throughout Pretty Little Liars. After all, he wouldn’t be the only person with the initials A.D. running around: Alison DiLaurentis, anyone?

It is possible that Elliot/Archer was working with A.D at some point. Another possibility is that Mary Drake has a son with the first name beginning with A—there are still plenty of theories surrounding Andrew! All anyone knows so far is that A.D. and Uber A are the same person.

Archer being A.D. is extremely unlikely. A.D. is pulling all the strings when it comes to the cryptic messages, so with Rollins now dead it would make the story dead, too. There has to be someone else, and the death of the doc must come out at some point.

Will Jenna have a more important role in the tormenting of the Liars this season? Her storylines were red-herrings in most cases throughout the first five and a half seasons, and she hasn’t been in the five-year time jump yet. It is possible that she isn’t going to be a red-herring this time and actually has a bigger plan up her sleeve for revenge.

What are your theories for Pretty Little Liars Season 7 and the now dead Elliot Rollins? How do you think he is connected to A.D. and what does Jenna have to do with it all?

Pretty Little Liars continues at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays on Freeform.
