‘Suits’ Season 6 Brings So Many Changes That The Cast Couldn’t Cope

Suits Season 6 has changed so much that even the cast struggled to get back in business. The premiere airs on Wednesday night, and will pick up where Season 5 left off. Mike Ross is in jail and everyone on the outside will need to figure out what to do next.

The latest promo trailer for Suits Season 6 makes it clear that it will not be easy for anyone. Jessica makes it clear that the firm is being sued by anyone’s case that was touched by Mike. Harvey makes it clear that he was the one who got them into the mess and now he will need to get them out of it. What will that mean for his career and position as named partner?

When Harvey visits Mike to find out why he pled guilty, Mike makes it clear that he is busy trying to survive in prison. Shots in the trailer show him surrounded by inmates in the cafeteria, before being held by two with another coming in for an attack. When sharing news about Suits Season 6, it was clear that this season would see major changes for Mike, as he found his way around the prison system and took on the challenges of being locked away for fraud.

This is not going to be something that he just walks away from, and the whole season is expected to see him behind bars. There were hints that no time jump is coming for this upcoming season, but there may be one later on.

According to Buddy TV, Rick Hoffman has said that the show is going in a new direction and will seem completely new. It is so different that the cast has needed time to adjust. Sarah Rafferty shared that the cast and crew had a new location to film in, which is a “massive change” in itself. They have also felt like it is a completely new world within Pearson Specter Litt, as all the employees have walked away. They will need to save the firm, if there is one to save, while helping Mike, who did what he believed was the right thing.

While Harvey may have got the team into the mess in the first place, he is not to blame for the whole mess. Jessica learned of Mike’s fraud long before he was caught by the police, and could have sent him packing before it became a major problem. Likewise, Louis could have turned Mike away, or Rachel and Donna could have turned him in. Instead, they all pretended like they were oblivious to his deceit because of the job he was doing for all of them. Despite having no official qualifications, he was a good lawyer after being taken under Harvey’s wing.

Harvey will struggle with guilt during this season of Suits and it will be a chance for Donna to take another step up. She will help him deal with the guilt and find a way to help Mike and the firm. Her skill set is helping him navigate the emotions he feels, especially those that he’s not used to.

The only similarity between Suits Season 6 and all those that came before it is that it will have 16 episodes. The break is expected to happen between Episodes 10 and 11. It is unknown whether Season 6 will be the final season, but executive producer Aaron Korsch is not planning on that happening. The show has certainly defied the odds by being that “summer filler” show that people keeping coming back to for more.

Suits Season 6 premieres on July 13, at 9 p.m. on USA.
