Highest Paid New Celebrity List Released

The highest paid new celebrity list should come as no surprise to most people that regularly engage in popular culture as well as social media. Please be advised that this list is only for new celebrities, not older and much more seasoned celebrities like Taylor Swift, who is still the highest paid person on the lists.

In lists that are compiled and published by Forbes every year, the highest paid new celebrity list is topped off by newcomer and musical sensation, The Weeknd. Not only did The Weeknd pull off the highest paid status for a new celebrity, but he has been a main stage performer all year and most of last year.

The Weeknd, or rather Abel Tesfaye (his Canadian-born name), has taken the world by storm as a new celebrity and his status as the highest paid comes with 55 million reasons, backed by a superstar top-selling album that banked over 2 million units sold and a world tour that sold out in every major event over the course of 12 short months.

The top selling album by The Weeknd, Beauty Behind the Madness, has outperformed all expectations and given the world a reason to push him to the top of the highest paid new celebrity list on Forbes top 100 for 2016. His new celebrity status has been compounded by music sales, tour dates, an exclusive deal with Live Nation as well as endorsements that have pushed him over the edge and onto the world stage as the highest paid new celebrity.

The best selling album for The Weeknd, Beauty Behind the Madness, was enough to give him his first competitive advantage on the list for highest paid new celebrity. The album sold over two million units in 2015, catapulting him to stardom and making him one of the most in-demand performers in the entire music business. The album also kept the new celebrity in the top ten charts for 45 consecutive weeks with two tracks that hit number one, which was impressive, to say the least. Although there may have been a little help from Fifty Shades of Grey for the track, “Earned It.”

In all, the new celebrity pulled in a total of $55 million over the previous 12 months and placed The Weeknd above all other new celebrity personalities, which includes new celebrities in the music, film, TV, and sporting businesses. That leaves him as the highest paid new celebrity on Forbes 2016 list.

In all, there were 15 new celebrity personalities that entered into the Top 100 list on Forbes, and collectively, they pulled in over $614.5 million. But the rest of that list would be filled out mostly by athletes with their careers and endorsement deals combined. Most of the new celebrity personalities were also from football, giving the sport an added advantage over baseball and basketball. Cam Newton was also a big name to add to the list of new celebrity personalities that really made an impression in the Top 100 highest paid new celebrity list.

For those who are wondering just who made the most money this year on the highest paid celebrity list by Forbes, it should come as no surprise to you that once again, Taylor Swift is spinning her mojo and her earnings power proves it.

Taylor Swift released an album last year that marks one of the greatest achievements in her young career. That being said, her album 1989 has been such a huge hit for fans of Swift that she has been able to bank more money than any other celebrity this year and officially set her mark for the lifetime achievement award in some future year.

In all, Taylor Swift pulled in $170 million over the past year, and she does not seem to be losing any steam from her earnings potential.
