Gwen Stefani Is Being ‘Used’ By Blake Shelton During ‘The Voice’ Auditions?

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton appear to be going strong, but is the former No Doubt singer being used by her boyfriend as he continues to participate in The Voice?

As auditions for the NBC series’ 11th season continue, a source claims Shelton has been dropping Gwen Stefani’s famous name in an effort to convince contestants to join his team.

“To get people on his team, Blake will say, ‘I don’t want to brag, but my girlfriend is the queen of ska,'” a source told Us Weekly on July 11.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton began dating at the end of last year as they filmed the ninth season of The Voice. At the time, Stefani and Shelton were both newly single after enduring highly publicized splits just months prior.

In July, Blake Shelton and his former wife, Miranda Lambert, announced they were ending their marriage after just four years and weeks later, Gwen Stefani and her former husband, Gavin Rossdale, parted ways after a 13-year marriage and three children.

“Blake used to say, ‘My wife, Miranda Lambert, is the best female country star,'” the insider recalled.

Now, however, “he talks about [Gwen Stefani] a lot,” the insider explained. “He’s always gushing about her and is so happy!”

Despite the magazine’s claim, a second report shot down the allegation of Shelton using Gwen Stefani and confirmed the country star “never used his high-profile love life” to get contestants on his team.

“If he mentioned them, it’s because he’s proud of their achievements. That’s all,” the source insisted to Gossip Cop.

Since the start of their relationship, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been spotted all over the country, and as their relationship has gotten more serious, Shelton has become close with Stefani’s sons, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.

Along with Gwen Stefani’s relationship success, she’s also seen success in her career and after completing filming on The Voice Season 9 last year, she released her new album, “This is What the Truth Feels Like,” which chronicled her journey from heartbreak to healing.

Months later, Gwen Stefani is on tour and she couldn’t be more excited.

“I feel like I’m in a dream because I was backstage getting ready, putting my makeup on thinking, ‘I’ve not played on tour for like 7 years!'” Gwen Stefani revealed during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 10. “I couldn’t be more excited right now or more grateful.”

Prior to the start of her relationship with Shelton, Gwen Stefani was unsure of whether or not she would ever release another album.

“I had wanted to write for a really long time and nothing was really coming … I had children and [I] had life going on,” Stefani explained. “So I kind of accepted I wasn’t gonna do any more.”

Then, after going through a messy split from Rossdale, who was accused of cheating on her for years with their former nanny, Mindy Mann, Gwen Stefani wrote “This is What the Truth Feels Like” to “make myself feel better, and it worked!”

“It’s really fun to share it,” she added of her emotional album, which speaks of her heartbreak and her new romance with Shelton. “Music is just so powerful.”

The Voice Season 11 will premiere on NBC on September 19. No word yet on whether or not Gwen Stefani will be making any guest appearances during the series’ upcoming installment.
