Mel B Goes Topless, Channels Janet Jackson For Cosmo UK [Photo]
Mel B replicated Janet Jackson’s iconic Rolling Stone cover for Cosmopolitan UK,The Insider reports. The 37-year-old posed topless for the charity CoppaFeel’s new breast cancer awareness campaign, with her husband Stephen Belafonte standing in for Jackson’s ex-husband Rene Elizondo.
Not only did the former Spice Girl replicate the famous cover, but she looks nearly identical to Ms. Jackson, sporting a similar curly hairstyle. The major difference between the two photos is that Belafonte is visible, while Elizondo was hidden behind Jackson.
Mel B said she was more than eager to disrobe for the campaign, telling the magazine, “I found a lump when I was 17 and freaked out. It turned out it was nothing but it terrified me. Ever since, I’ve always been one for checking, then double checking.”
The pop star, who has three daughters and one stepdaughter, said she will show her girls how to perform breast exams when they’re older. She said her 13-year-old, Phoenix, already performs self checks.
Belafonte said he was more than happy to — ahem — lend a hand for the cause. He told Cosmo,“I’m a boob man so I had absolutely no problem doing this shoot or helping my wife check her breasts.What man wouldn’t like that? It’s a fun thing to do and so very important.”
In the accompanying interview, Mel B also said, “I love boobs. Me and the other Spice Girls are always having a feel of each others’ — Geri came up behind me and grabbed mine the other day.”
