‘GTA Online’ Update: Independence Day Sale Until Tomorrow, ‘Cunning Stunts’ PS4, Xbox One, PC Release On Tuesday


A GTA Online update, namely the Cunning Stunts DLC, is all set for release on Tuesday, July 12, while Rockstar’s Independence Day sale for special items is ending tomorrow.

GTA Online gamers still hung over from the 4th of July celebration can continue the fun in the open world action-adventure title. Aside from the new Dewbauchee Seven-70 available from Legendary Sport, all the original Independence Day Special Items are still discounted on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

GTA Online fans still have the time to get their own Liberator monster truck, the Musket, The Sovereign Motorcycle, Firework Rocket Launcher with ammo, each with 25 percent off. The Rockstar NewsWire page also noted that all the Independence Day Special patriotic merchandise and gears including T-shirt and hats are on sale, but it only lasts until tomorrow, July 11.

The following day is going to be another exciting time for the GTA Online fans as Cunning Stunts DLC debuts on PC as well as on Sony and Microsoft’s latest generation of consoles. This free GTA Online DLC is described as “a visually surreal and over-the-top evolution to racing.” The upcoming update, which according to Metro is a cross between Ubisoft’s Trackmania Turbo and Nintendo’s Mario Kart, will highlight Stunt Races described by Rockstar below.

“Stunt Races happen on a massive scale, towering above the Los Santos skyline or soaring between the treacherous blades of RON Alternates Windmill Farm. Vehicles tear upside-down through loops and tubes, launch off ramps with extra propulsion from speed strips, diverge and merge across multiple pathways, and speed through gigantic rings of fire in death-defying new Races.”

Each Race in Cunning Stunts DLC for GTA Online will feature jumps, terrains, gaps, and obstacles that are customized to match characteristics of certain vehicle classes, which includes new Super cars, Motorbikes, and Sports cars. And to complement the new vehicles arriving in the upcoming update, Rockstar made sure that drivers will have the perfect wardrobes by also bringing in new racing suits, motocross gear, and helmets, among others.

As for other GTA Online news, an update was recently made adding three new locations to the team-based Power Play mode of the games. “Square off at Los Santos International Airport, the Port of Los Santos, or take on some turbocharged chaos on the banks of the Alamo Sea,” Rockstar noted.

GTA Online is the multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto 5 allowing up to 30 players on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The “dynamic and persistent open world” began “by sharing content and mechanics with Grand Theft Auto V, but continues to expand and evolve with content created by Rockstar and other players,” the description read.

“Taking the fundamental concepts of open-world freedom, ambient activity and mission-based gameplay and making them available to multiple players in an incredibly dynamic online world, we offer players the freedom to explore alone or work cooperatively with friends to complete missions. Residents of Los Santos band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.”

In other news, according to a report from International Business Times, Rockstar Games seems to be giving away free GTA Online DLC items and returning millions of dollars to those eligible for a refund.
