The U.S. release for Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 is already on the horizon as the South Korean tech giant launches its pre-order page for the Android slate. According to Samsung’s official pre-order web page, the smartphone will ship in seven-to-10 business days.
Those who want to reserve a unit even before the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016’s official release can pre-order the tablet as early as now. The pre-order is specifically available for the 16GB Wi-Fi model priced at $299.99, free shipping included. Samsung’s bigger Tab A model is available in two colors: metallic black and pearl white.
As for the specs, with its official name as the hint, the 2016 edition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 has a display size of 10.1 inches featuring a PLS LCD capacitive touchscreen. It boasts a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 224 ppi.
In the hardware department, it is equipped with Exynos 7870 chipset paired with 2 GB of RAM. With only 16 GB native storage, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 allows memory expansion through a microSD card of up to 256 GB. It uses a non-removable Li-Ion battery with 7300 mAh capacity, which allows approximately 13 hours of internet usage, according to Samsung website.
Delving into the tablet’s camera, GSM Arena’s full specifications list noted that the primary shooter uses 8 MP lens sensor and is equipped with features like panorama, Geo-tagging, and touch focus. The selfie shooter, on the other hand, has 2 MP lens sensor.
Out of the box, the smartphone comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, providing new features like Now on Tap, a virtual assistance service providing cards filled with useful information. The Marshmallow OS also puts the spotlight to efficient battery use with two new battery-saving functions, Doze and App Standby. Devices running on Android Marshmallow should also have more controls to app permissions and find features like Android for Work and Android Pay.

The tablet also offers parental control features and advanced multitasking tools. Describing the tablet in general, the Samsung’s page noted the following.
