WWE News: Brock Lesnar Will Defeat Randy Orton At ‘SummerSlam’ No Matter What Happens Tonight At UFC 200

Tonight is going to be one of the biggest nights of Brock Lesnar’s career as he prepares to step back into the Octagon for the first time in roughly five years. During tonight’s historic UFC 200 event, Lesnar will face Mark Hunt in one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history.

No matter what happens tonight for Lesnar, it’s the big fight situation that he deserves to be in, but the truth is that the outcome of his fight against Hunt will have serious implications on his career not only in MMA but in WWE.

During an interview with MMAFighting.com, Brock Lesnar went on record to say that he doesn’t care about how his UFC 200 fight impacts his WWE aura. Lesnar said the following.

“I really don’t give a s**t. This isn’t about my fans. This is about me living my life, being the person that I want to be. Granted, without the fans and everything, none of us would be able to do this. I get that. But I don’t sit up at night wondering is my drawing power gonna be hurt or are my WWE fans gonna tune in and watch me do this. I don’t give two s**ts about that. This is about me. I want to get in there and be an athlete again. That’s what this is about.”

Brock Lesnar does have a point. He does deserve to be in a big fight situation like this, and how the fight is going to positively or negatively impact his WWE career should not be what he is thinking about going into the Octagon. What Lesnar should be thinking about his returning to UFC and the fight with Mark Hunt tonight.

The problem is that whether Lesnar cares about it or not, the result of his fight with Hunt is going to impact his momentum in WWE significantly, which is going to be a problem no matter what happens tonight. On paper, you’d think that competing in the Octagon at one of the biggest events in UFC history wouldn’t impact his aura in WWE at all.

To a certain extent, that is true. However, WWE programming still runs on wins and losses just like any other sport, whether the winners are predetermined or not. No matter the outcome of Lesnar’s fight with Hunt, he’s going to need a win during his next match, which will be at SummerSlam in August. That could be a huge reason why WWE selected Randy Orton as his opponent.

According to a rumor from Cageside Seats, WWE is preparing for Brock Lesnar to defeat Randy Orton at SummerSlam no matter what the outcome of his fight is tonight at UFC 200, which makes a lot of sense. How can Lesnar go from competing at UFC 200 to losing in a WWE ring? Randy Orton is a veteran who can easily take a loss against Lesnar. That is smart booking.

If Lesnar defeats Hunt, then how is it going to be believable for anyone to defeat him clean in WWE, especially less than a month after the fight. If Lesnar loses tonight, not only is it going to negatively impact his “invincible” aura as a character in WWE, but a loss to Orton or anyone else would make it very difficult for Lesnar to keep that aura.

His entire draw in WWE is that he is a legitimate fighter. It is a good idea for Lesnar to compete in UFC to keep that aura going, but defeating Randy Orton at SummerSlam could be seen as a “pity” win by a lot of people because WWE would be protecting him after losing in the Octagon.

Clearly, Lesnar is going to need a win over Orton at SummerSlam no matter what happens tonight. Luckily, WWE has prepared for that result. The only thing to do now is to wait and see what happens to Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 tonight.
