The Walking Dead Theme Park Attraction At Universal Studios Hollywood Offers An Authentic Walker Experience

The Walking Dead fans are totally stressed out by the Season 6 cliffhanger. They read every single spoiler, hoping to guess the outcome, but uncertainty still rules their lives until the first episode of Season 7. Is Glenn Rhee safe? What abut Daryl Dixon? Fans can’t wait to see Norman Reedus and Steve Yeun. One of their beloved characters has died, but fans should take heart. Walkers are finally taking over the world, walking the earth, just as the zombie buffs predicted.

Universal Studios Hollywood has been overtaken by zombie hordes. The dead are not staying dead. Zombie experts are needed to combat the occupation. So far, zombies have been contained behind those dreaded hospital doors, replicas of the ones from the show, but no one knows when they will spill out. Who has the courage to unchain that door and make their way through the zombie maze?

Okay, Walking Dead fans, heads up. This is total immersion in zombie culture in the way Daryl Dixon, Rick Grimes, Maggie Green, and Glenn Rhee experience it. Visitors to Universal Studios Hollywood will be walking with the dead or running from them, as the case may be. For the price of admission, visitors are chased and lunged at by the same kind of zombies seen on their favorite TV program. To visit the latest Universal Studios Hollywood attraction is to be completely surrounded by many of the same walkers seen on the show.

Norman Reedus and Steve Yeun fans can wade through seas of walkers, provided they can make it past all those ghoulish monsters in the maze of absolute terror. Some very convincing zombie arms are ready to reach out and touch, maybe even grab visitors as they make their way through, but don’t think this is all about robotics. Get ready for a full cast of walkers.

The Walking Dead fans are waiting very impatiently for Season 7. It is driving them quite mad, and the only relief is at Universal Studios Hollywood in Southern California. Now, fans can enjoy real live zombies and animatronic zombies as well by visiting Universal’s latest attraction. Wouldn’t that be a great way to kill time till that next episode?

Norman Reedus and Steve Yeun will not be present at the attraction. That’s the bad news. The good news is admission to the Walking Dead attraction is included with any general admission ticket to Universal Studios Hollywood. The attraction will be open year around according to Slash Films. There is a PG -13 rating. The attraction is really pushing the envelope, as creative director for Universal Studios, John Murdy explains to USA Today, but makes no apologies.

“To have a brand like The Walking Dead be part of a regular theme park is pretty radical, but we can’t do Walking Dead-lite. We have to deliver an experience that is true to that brand – and we are. It’s really intense.”

Andrew Lincoln’s character, Rick Grimes, met up with a pretty grizzly zombie in the first season. Since then, she’s become a regular cult icon. This very popular animatronic character, “Bicycle Girl,” is part of the attraction according to USA Today.

As The Walking Dead fans may remember “Bicycle Girl” just isn’t all there. Not only is she a zombie, her bottom half has been eaten. Only her upper torso remains as she crawls, dragging a few entrails and a femur bone, she reaches for her next victim.

Norman Reedus fans can take courage from their Daryl shirts and try not to scream too much because this attraction is really scary.
