Lea Michele And Robert Buckley Call It Quits After Two Months Of Dating
Well, that was fast! Actress Lea Michele and actor Robert Buckley have decided to call it quits after only two months of dating. The Inquisitr first reported the news back in May of Lea Michele’s new relationship after being dumped by boyfriend of a year Matthew Paetz. Now, according to E! Michele and Buckley split but “are still friends.”
A source divulged more to Us Weekly about the state of their relationship:
“[They] just found they were better off as friends and wanted to support each other’s careers.”
As far as supporting each other’s careers goes, they won’t have to travel too far to support the other. Lea and Robert both co-starred in the anthology Dimension 404, which will premiere on Hulu. According to Deadline, Dimension 404 is a science fiction anthology.

Early on in the relationship, Lea Michele was cautious to gush too much about her romance, but she did state that she was having the best summer, which made fans guess that Robert Buckley had a role in that happiness.
“I just went on an amazing trip right before I get back into work. I’m really just having the best summer. I’ve been working out a lot and spending time with my friends and family – really no complaints over here.”

The split comes as a bit of a shock, because Lea Michele just made her relationship Instagram official by posting a photo with Robert Buckley on her personal Instagram, which is usually the way most celebrities announce they’re dating their significant other (see Taylor Swift with Calvin Harris.)
The actress shared photos and videos from her Instagram celebrating the Fourth of July with friends, including Buckley. It seemed like the couple were very happy to be in each other’s company, so it’s a bit of a head-scratcher.

The last relationship Lea Michele was in was with aspiring model Matthew Paetz, who shocked the actress and her fans when he broke up with her. As the Inquisitr reported, Paetz didn’t give her a reason for the split and cut off all contact from her and her friends. Although there was no official reason reported via a source or otherwise, many of Lea Michele’s friends said that they suspected that he was using her for fame early on in the relationship.
Despite worries, Michele ignored them all to be supportive of her then boyfriend.
“She was also very supportive of him even when her friends were skeptical of him because of his past. Lea wanted to believe in love and wanted to believe the good in him. She didn’t think he should be punished for his past.”
Weeks prior to their breakup, Lea had gushed about Paetz on the podcast Fempire.
“We’ve stood by each other through anything that was thrown our way, and [Matt] is a such a great man that he would never really let anything like that ever crack our lovely little core that we’ve created. And, you know, he is also very respectful toward the person that I was with, and that, again, is something I love so much about him.”
