Calm Down, Internet: Calvin Harris Did Not Write Cheating Song About Taylor Swift

Rumors have been swirling on whether or not Calvin Harris has penned a cheating song about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. Keep in mind that both the alleged song in question and the reports about her cheating are just rumors at the moment.

According to a TMZ report, Calvin Harris, 32, is beating Taylor Swift, 26, at her own game by writing a breakup song about her alleged cheating ways. The new track is called “Ole,” which Harris has already promoted on social media. It’s reportedly written from Tom Hiddleston’s point-of-view and reveals that Swift cheated on Harris with the British actor.

The lyrics in question go, “I see online that you begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend. Being attentive, continue to pretend… You’ve hidden my name in your phone so you can call me to tell me you’ve been going through hell. Left him alone and you booked in a hotel.”

The report also goes on to say that Calvin even name dropped Tom’s Thor famous character, Loki, with the line, “Low key you won’t tell none of your friends about me.”

Sources even told the celebrity gossip outlet that Harris has nothing against the Night Manager star. He’s still rumored to be heartbroken over his split with Swift, which is why he decided to get back at her with his new song. The site also reports that singer John Newman’s vocals will be heavily featured on the song. He was spotted vacationing with Harris in Mexico, where they reportedly shot the music video, and where Harris shared a Snapchat of himself surrounded by a group of women along with the caption, “I write songs.”

Now, it looks like Calvin Harris’ new song isn’t about Taylor Swift cheating after all. Other sources told TMZ that Taylor already knew about the song because Calvin started writing long before she even met her new boyfriend at the Met Gala. This new source says that Calvin may be using this song to his advantage to promote it and trash his ex.

The Met Gala is a key moment in Swift and Harris’ relationship timeline. Even though it was a big night for the singer-songwriter who was co-chairing the event for the first time, Harris did not attend the gala with her. Instead, she was seen dancing the night away with Hiddleston on video.

The source added, “If Calvin claims he wasn’t working on this before the Met Ball, he’s lying.”

However, it was rumored early last month that the Scottish DJ was penning a scathing breakup song about their relationship. According to the Mirror, Harris was already working on some new tracks in the studio for his upcoming fifth studio album. He reportedly has Kanye West and Rihanna in mind for the breakup song, claims an inside source.

“Kanye is up for doing something with Calvin and Rihanna and now Calvin’s no longer with Taylor anything is possible.”

The source went on to say that Swift’s sudden romance with Hiddleston has caused the hit maker to write a new song for his album.

“Calvin feels that talking publicly is not the way to go, but expressing things in music is the better option. He’s currently working on some new music and has been milling over some tunes about heartbreak, deceit, and lost love.”

Either way, his new song and video will drop on Friday, July 8. There is no doubt that fans will be deciphering each line and clue like they did with his last single, “This is What You Came For.”

Newman has confirmed to Digital Spy back in June the release date and added that the track has more of a reggae sound rather than a traditional John Newman sound. It sounds like it could become one of the songs of the summer.
