Is Kate Middleton Ellen DeGeneres’ Cousin? Shockingly, Yes, And Ellen Is Set On Confronting Duchess Kate

The Middleton family were front and center at Wednesday’s Wimbledon match. All but one family member showed up to take in the event that is so beloved by the sport-enthusiast family. Kate was missing from the occasion, and the question now rests on why the Duchess was a no-show alongside her family at the tournament she is the royal ambassador for?

Speculation is swirling that perhaps Middleton is attempting to avoid a particular individual who has made a point of stating that she would track the Duchess down to prove family ties. The said individual is none other than television host, actress and comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who has claimed she and Kate are related and seeks to prove it to the beautiful royal.

The Mirror shares details about the claims by Ellen.

“Ellen DeGeneres and Kate Middleton are not two names you would expect to crop up in the same sentence – let alone the same family. But the American comedian and the mother of our future king are cousins. And Ellen reveals she is planning on making a beeline for Kate so her kinswoman can no longer ignore their bond.”

On her show, Ellen made the statement that was greeted with chuckles from her audience when the host insisted she is going to go to all extremes to reveal the relationship between she and Kate, even if a DNA chart is required.

“She refuses to admit it and I don’t know why. But I am going to be at Wimbledon and if my cousin Kate is there I’m going to bring the DNA chart with me.”

Interestingly enough, the ancestral investigation actually determined that Ellen DeGeneres and Kate Middleton are in fact distant cousins. The publication notes that the two are 14th cousins, twice removed, and are related through Sir Thomas Fairfax as well as his wife Agnes Gascoigne, who lived in the early 1500’s. Ellen went on to share her determination about the discovery.

“Kate Middleton and I are distant cousins and I don’t know if she thinks I’m joking, but I’m going to confront her.”

Ellen DeGeneres has been beloved by millions for decades now, getting her start in acting with her sitcom Ellen, followed by numerous film roles. The star then took to the airwaves on her own talk show which she has hosted now for 13 years. The 58-year-old won the support and following of millions when she spoke openly about her sexual orientation and married her partner Portia di Rossi in 2008. As Radar Online notes, the couple has experienced their troublesome times, yet have worked through it all.

The star spoke about simply being herself and not wanting to fit some sort of mold, as the Mirror relays.

“It’s just who I am. I don’t want to try to pretend that I am anything other than this. I think sometimes people grow up feeling you are supposed to fit some kind of pattern, and supposed to look how society says a 58-year-old woman is supposed to look and dress and act. A lot of us just fall into that and become what we think we are supposed to become.”

DeGeneres then continued to share about her view and attitude in regards to aging.

“I don’t care that people know that I am 58 because I think it’s just a number and your spirit and your energy level is what your real age is.”

There’s no question that Ellen’s spirit and energy put her in an age range that is far below her 58 years seeing as she is just as lively now as she was when she first came on the scene as an admired comedian. Perhaps when DeGeneres does prove her ancestral ties to Middleton the two will get on like sisters as opposed to 14th cousins, twice removed.
