‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: Which Characters Are In The Most Danger? [Spoilers]

The Walking Dead Season 7 will not premiere on AMC until fall 2016. Until then, fans are busy debating on who Negan killed with Lucille, his barbed wire baseball bat. Even though nobody is safe on the zombie apocalypse TV show, some TWD characters may be in more danger than others.

Warning: Spoilers and theories for The Walking Dead Season 7 are ahead.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Season 7 of The Walking Dead won’t just show Rick Grimes’ point of view. When the series returns to AMC, fans will see both sides of the story. Negan might be seen as a villain to some, but others know there is more to the story. Negan is a complex character, and there is no one word to describe him.

Recently, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that who Negan killed in The Walking Dead didn’t matter. The reasoning was that the outcome will be the same. While the writer did have some valid points, Negan’s victim will matter if it is someone like Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), or Michonne (Danai Gurira). It could change how other characters deal with Negan, the way they respond to future threats, and could completely change who they are.

With that being said, which characters are in the most danger of dying by Negan’s baseball bat, Lucille? It was teased by Jeffrey Dean Morgan in an interview with Variety that as far as he knew at that time, the TV show was going to be similar to The Walking Dead comics. Could that include Negan’s victim being Glenn? The writers might stick to the same character dying or could change it. It is a huge debate among fans, but nobody will know for sure until Season 7 premieres this fall.

One possibility Carter Matt brought up was Sgt. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz). Recently, the actor was spotted without the red hair his character is known for in The Walking Dead. While attending the Dallas Walker Stalker convention in 2015, Cudlitz was sitting in the hotel’s sports bar with an unidentified man. The gentlemen were talking too low for their conversation to be heard, but they may have been discussing Cudlitz’s next project. Every time Abraham is mentioned as possibly being Negan’s victim, that sighting always comes to mind.

To be fair, some actors work on multiple projects at once. There is also the possibility that the two men may have not even been discussing business.

Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Aaron (Ross Marquand) were also mentioned as possible victims in The Walking Dead. Both are reasonable theories, but Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly that Negan’s introduction would be heartbreaking, intense, and shocking. Murdering Eugene or Aaron would not have the same effect as Negan killing Rick, Daryl, or Glenn.

Although Eugene is definitely more likable than he used to be, he is not a fan favorite. As for Aaron, his character hasn’t developed enough for him to be let go. Fans are just starting to get to know him. There has to be more of a story for the TWD character before he is killed off.

Michonne (Danai Gurira) was another TWD character that some think could die by Negan. Michonne and Rick (known as “Richonne” to fans) just began a relationship. Besides losing his children, what could be more traumatic than Rick losing another woman in his life?

There is an assumption that Negan has a policy of not killing women and children. However, last season, the group was told about the Saviors beating a teenage boy to death at the Hilltop Colony. Even though it as not by Negan’s hand, he did send the Saviors to deliver a message. Also, just because certain rules exist in the comics doesn’t mean those same rules will apply in the TV show.

Unfortunately, someone loved and well-known by fans is going to have to be killed for it to have the same effect as the Issue #100 of The Walking Dead comics. It will likely be a major character, someone who has been around for at least a few seasons. It seems that the characters in the most danger are Glenn, Abraham, and Michonne. Which one do you think Negan will kill?
