WWE News: Wyatt Family To Take WWE Tag Team Titles Off Of The New Day?

The New Day and The Wyatt Family are involved in a very interesting rivalry as of late. Both teams are known for being great together, and the ability of the trio or sometimes foursome of each group has allowed them to have great success. The difference between The New Day and The Wyatt Family is pretty simple; the Wyatt’s have never won gold. While Luke Harper has won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in the past, but he did so after the group disbanded in 2014 for a brief period.

The group managed to get back together in 2015 and even added a new member in Braun Strowman. Bray Wyatt now has three towers to watch his back and allow him to take out anyone he sees as worthy of destruction. The problem is that a group cannot be considered much of a success if they never win gold together. Even The Shield had the WWE Tag Team and the United States Title to their credit. New Day even has two tag titles, and the one they hold now they have had for almost a year.

It makes total sense that The New Day would lose the tag titles, but it always came down to who they would lose it to. It would need to be a worthy team that is more than capable of being better than The New Day on any given day. The Wyatt Family may be that team. According to Cageside Seats, we should not be surprised to see the Wyatt Family take the tag titles from New Day, and we expect to eventually see a title match.

Some would say that WWE could not do a three on three match for the tag team titles. Technically that is true, but there are some loopholes that would allow them to do so. If The Wyatt Family are allowed to use the Freebird rule for themselves, the same thing New Day happens to use, WWE may allow them to do a six man tag team match. However, most expect Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan to be in the match with Bray Wyatt on the outside, similar to what New Day will do with Xavier Woods.

That seems to be the thing that Wyatt is trying to mess up. Storyline wise, he has managed to get inside the head of Woods. Xavier has never been this spooked with anyone that New Day has gone up against. The trio has gone up against some of the best teams in WWE, so it is not as if they have never seen competition before. However, New Day is more than capable of saying that they have never seen any team quite like The Wyatt Family.

Led by Bray Wyatt, they have run through some of the top names in WWE including the likes of John Cena, Roman Reigns, and current WWE Champion Dean Ambrose. While the men always found a way to overcome, they were able to find a way to work against Bray one on one. In a team environment, the Wyatt’s always seem to thrive. They hold the distinction of saying that they have never gone down to The Shield in a 6 man tag match.

Few teams, even the legendary Evolution team, can say that. The fact that they have taken down three men that all held a WWE World Title at one time or another is amazing. The New Day may not be at the same level of competition in comparison, despite holding the WWE Tag Team Titles for the better part of a year.

With Woods rocked, New Day is losing the edge that helped to make them great. Woods being on the outside could be considered the secret weapon of the group as he has helped them win over and over again. He has even been part of matches when defending the gold.

In the past, Bray Wyatt has seemingly targeted each and every person he wanted to send a message to. No matter who it happened to be, he would make the call. However, that was not the case with The New Day. They interrupted his return, and they started the entire thing. This was not Bray trying to go after New Day and destroy them; they invited his wrath. That is what makes this entire thing so intriguing. Could we say New Day ended themselves? It seems possible that they very well could have.
