Jacqueline Laurita On Teresa’s Friendship: ‘People Don’t Change Who They Are Overnight’

Jacqueline Laurita is back for another season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey after spending a few years away from the show. Laurita wanted to focus on her son, Nicholas, who was diagnosed with autism while she was filming the show. But these days, Jacqueline wants to come back on the show, as her former best friend is back from prison. But just because Teresa is back from jail and Laurita is back on the show doesn’t mean they will get along. In fact, Laurita teases that fans will see the old Teresa this season.

According to a new People report, Jacqueline Laurita reveals that she and Giudice will experience some ups and downs, as their friendship is like a rollercoaster. In a new interview, Laurita opens up about what their friendship is like now after years of not really speaking.

“Teresa and I have a roller coaster friendship. It’s a love/hate relationship. Not all people will understand it,” Jacqueline Laurita told People magazine this week about her friendship with Teresa Giudice, adding that this season, Jacqueline is all about “trying to figure out who’s sincere and who’s genuine – I’m all about real relationships, I’m not about TV friends.”

Of course, there is history between Jacqueline Laurita and Giudice. They have known each other for years and they have shared many moments on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Laurita was there when Giudice gave birth to her fourth daughter and Teresa celebrated the birth of Nicholas just months before. The two were pregnant together and both were frustrated with Danielle Staub, who was on the show for two seasons.

“I’ve been friends with Teresa for 13 years, so there are definitely things that I love about her or I never would have been friends with her that long — but there are also things that frustrate the crap out of me,” Jacqueline reveals, adding that she doesn’t expect Giudice to change who she is overnight, telling People,“People don’t change who they are overnight. You might want to change and you might try to change but you are who you are, and Teresa’s Teresa!”

There have been plenty of reports about Jacqueline and Giudice feuding on this season of the show. Laurita supposedly calls Giudice a felon and she is being accused of going behind Giudice’s back and reaching out to her friends while Teresa was serving her time behind bars. In addition, Jacqueline Laurita supposedly writes a letter to Joe Giudice in jail, according to In Touch. If this is true, it makes sense that Giudice would be upset with her former friend.

“We have such a history of friendship and love and fractured relationships, so there’s a lot of repairing that needs to be done. But we work together. We do our best,” Laurita explains in her interview, adding about this new season, “It’s sort of a roller coaster. One second we could be the worst enemies, and the next second we’re having a blast together. But that’s just life! Sometimes it gets in the way.”

It will definitely be interesting to see how their friendship is going these days. Jacqueline did reach out to her friend when she got her sentence, but the two haven’t been talking too much since then. The new season starts on Sunday night on Bravo, and it is possible that the first episode will just catch fans up on what has been happening in New Jersey, as the show has been on a lengthy hiatus.

What do you think about Jacqueline Laurita’s interview about Teresa Giudice? Do you agree that their friendship is indeed like a rollercoaster?
