Bray Wyatt Wants To Wrestle The Rock At ‘WrestleMania 33’

When future WWE Hall of Famer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced that he would be at WrestleMania 32 several months before the event, WWE fans didn’t exactly know what his role was going to be. Some thought that he would end up wrestling, but as the event got closer, it became clear that he wasn’t going to be involved in a match, and that his segment on the show was probably going to be a talking segment.

What fans didn’t see coming was a confrontation between The Rock and the Wyatt Family, which led to a match between “The People’s Champ” and Erick Rowan, which lasted just a couple of seconds. Then, following the match, John Cena assisted The Rock in taking out all members of the Wyatt Family, and the segment ended with The Rock delivering a People’s Elbow to the leader of the Wyatt Family, Bray.

On Monday night, WWE announced that Bray Wyatt would be appearing on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Tuesday, where he’d be interviewed by ex-WWE commentator Todd Grisham. During the interview, Grisham asked Bray about his confrontation with The Rock at WrestleMania 32, and after he answered the question, he made it quite clear that he wants to wrestle “The Great One” at next year’s WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.

“The Rock is the biggest star in the world period. It was a moment for me as well, especially because I was walking out and seeing 100,000 fireflies, and that was something of beauty. Being out there with The Rock… It was cool, I guess I would say, but I would also have to admit that we have unfinished business, and if he’s listening or watching, Rock, I would love to finish it at WrestleMania 33.”

Bray has wrestled John Cena and The Undertaker at WrestleMania previously, and, as we all know, he had a pretty big moment with The Rock at this past year’s WrestleMania. So, he’s certainly no stranger to big matches or big moments on WWE’s grandest stage.

As of this writing, we don’t know if The Rock is planning on wrestling at WrestleMania 33, or if he’s even planning on being at the event at all. It’s also far too early to know who he’ll be facing if he is able to wrestle next year in Orlando, but Bray Wyatt is the leading candidate to get the opportunity to go one-on-one with “The Great One” next year.

Of course, just because WWE does something with The Rock at a WrestleMania event doesn’t mean that it’ll lead to anything; at last year’s WrestleMania 31, he, along with former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, took out Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, and it didn’t lead to anything. Now, there were rumors going around that The Rock was going to face Triple H at WrestleMania 32, but that didn’t end up happening. So, just because The Rock took out the Wyatts in Dallas doesn’t mean that the two are going to be in the ring together next year in Orlando.

The Rock could very well have wrestled Triple H at WrestleMania 32 if it weren’t for an insurance issue that prevented him from doing so. He may end up having the same issue at next year’s WrestleMania 33, which would obviously prevent him from wrestling Bray Wyatt.

As for Bray, he’ll probably be World Champion on one of the brands, presumably SmackDown, when WrestleMania 33 rolls around next spring, because it’s been heavily rumored that WWE wants to make him a World Champion. So, he may be busy doing other things at WrestleMania 33, and The Rock may end up wrestling someone like Brock Lesnar or Randy Orton.
