‘Teen Wolf’ Season 6 Spoilers: Why Tyler Posey Thinks Scott Should Stay Single After His Breakup With Kira

Teen Wolf Season 6 is going to be all about Scott McCall. In a recent interview, Tyler Posey revealed that there will be several changes that fans can expect from his character when the MTV series returns this fall.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Tyler Posey shared that there is definitely going to be quite a change in Scott when Teen Wolf returns for Season 6. After all that he has been through in Season 5, fighting Theo and the Dread Doctors, it may be a good idea for Scott to have a more laidback season this time around.

“Everything that happened in season 5 made him stronger so when season 6 comes up, he’s got a good head on his shoulders, nothing bad has happened in Beacon Hills lately, so he’s feeling confident about that. He’s in a pretty good place. When we pick up with him, he’s somewhat happy, which is sort of unusual for Scott,” Posey said.

While the changes in Scott’s character sounds great and exciting, some Teen Wolf fans are still disappointed that Kira Yukimura (Arden Cho) will no longer return for Season 6. When asked if they will be introducing a new love interest for Scott soon, showrunner Jeff Davis revealed that Tyler Posey’s character may end up staying single for a while.

“When we realized that the show wasn’t going to have Kira Yukimura this season, we wanted to ask ourselves, ‘Does Scott always need to have romance in his life to be a compelling character?’ We thought this might be a season where we don’t see that side and we see him struggling a little bit,” he explained.

Davis held that Teen Wolf Season 6 will see Scott as a single guy who is trying to graduate and be there for his friends while facing yet another supernatural crisis. Posey, on the other hand, thinks that Scott staying single will be a great idea. He said that it’s about time that his character keeps his eye on the prize and concentrate on his goals in life.

“I don’t know if he’s actively trying to be single, but it’s doing good for him. He’s able to focus on what he wants and not let anything get in the way. He’s kind of a crazy puppy dog when he falls in love, kind of aimlessly wandering around, so it’s good that he’s not thinking of any girls right now. Keeps his eyes on the prize.”

Given that Scott has always been in a relationship, it will be quite interesting to see how this plays out. After he and Allison (Crystal Reed) broke up, he immediately met Kira, which did not leave much single time for his character.

In 2014, Tyler Posey ended his engagement with his childhood sweetheart, Seana Gorlick. The two have been together for 10 years before the split. After finding out what happens to Scott in Teen Wolf Season 6, Posey shared that he was able to relate to his character even more.

“This is the first two years I’m really single, so I relate to it with Scott and I thought it was something that every person has to go through in their life, grow on their own and really figure out who they are. That’s kind of what’s going on with Scott.”

An insider told Hollywood Life that it was Posey who called off the engagement. The Teen Wolf star allegedly realized that tying the knot would eventually slow his career down. Posey also did not want to lead Gorlick into thinking that there is still a future for the two of them.

“He didn’t want to lead her on because he only wants to get married once, and when it is right it is right and the relationship just wasn’t right anymore,” the insider said.
