Florida Woman Allegedly Used Infant Like A Human Baseball Bat

A Florida woman has been arrested in association with an incident that allegedly left her six-month-old baby injured. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that 18-year-old Tatyana Allen is accused of using her infant son as a weapon against her boyfriend. The details surrounding this case are shocking, but it’s absolutely fortunate that the child was not fatally injured in the reported incident.

Authorities in Daytona Beach, Florida responded to calls from witnesses, who allegedly saw the woman being rough with the six-month-old baby at a public beach in the area. An ambulance was also called to the scene, where the infant was being treated for injuries he sustained during the incident, which had been seen by numerous witnesses.

According to what witnesses saw, the 18-year-old Florida woman approached her boyfriend and punched him in the face at least three times. After punching the man, she reportedly used her six-month-old baby as a human baseball bat, and swung him at the man, hitting him. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that she also threw the baby, face-down, in the sand.

Tragically, this isn’t the first time someone has used a child as a literal weapon in an assault. Last year, a South African man was arrested after he used a three-day-old baby to beat on his girlfriend. Alexander Forba allegedly picked up the newborn by his legs, and then swung him like a club to beat on the child’s mother. The incident mortally injured the newborn baby, who was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.

In 2006, a Pennsylvania woman reportedly used her four-week-old newborn as a weapon during a domestic spat with her boyfriend. Chytoria Graham was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after she swung the infant like a bat in order to hit the man. The child suffered serious injuries which included a fractured skull and brain hemorrhaging.



In 2013, a woman became internet famous when she was caught on video throwing her baby so she could get into a fight with another woman while on a public bus. The woman later spoke out and claimed that she “sat her baby down,” but the video remains, which shows that the infant was tossed violently to a stranger in another seat.

Last year, a baby was seriously injured after a brick was thrown through a window and stuck him in the head. The brick was allegedly thrown by the boyfriend of a woman who had some kind of beef with the homeowner, but the child became an innocent casualty in the scuffle. Luckily, the child did not die.

As for this latest case, Florida woman Tatyana Allen has been charged with infliction of physical and mental injury on a child and battery. She is currently being held in jail on bond in the amount of $300,000. Meanwhile, she is not allowed to have any contact with the infant or the boyfriend that she allegedly assaulted until DCF deems it safe.
