Amber Portwood Defends Matt Baier Amid Estranged Son’s Claims, ‘Teen Mom OG’ Couple Remains United

Amber Portwood and Matt Baier seem to be holding strong despite the negativity that has been surrounding their relationship since the beginning. The two met online, and he moved to Indiana to be with her. Portwood has had a rough few years and spent time in prison for drug-related offenses. Since then, she has been working hard to rebuild her life, and Baier has fit right into it perfectly.

Teen Mom OG has been documenting the relationship between Amber Portwood and Matt Baier. The two are set to get married in October, but it is unclear if it will be filmed for the show or not. On top of the good moments the camera has caught, they have also filmed some pretty tough times. Portwood was blindsided by Gary Shirley when dropping off her daughter Leah after a visit. He approached his ex-girlfriend with papers revealing that Baier had several children with several different women. While Portwood says she knew about it all, fans think there may have been some unknown children named in the papers.

Since that moment, Amber Portwood and Matt Baier have been under intense scrutiny over his past. There have been several rumors circulating about him being a deadbeat dad, complete with an interview given by his oldest son. The interview painted Baier in an incredibly negative light, and Portwood finally spoke out about it.

According to the Hollywood Gossip, Amber Portwood is done with the negativity and has refused to feed into it. She wrote a rant on Twitter about the subject but quickly deleted it after realizing how negative it was. Portwood has mostly kept quiet throughout all of the rumors and speculations, standing behind her man completely.

Matt Baier insists that his son doesn’t believe the words he spoke in the interview. Amber Portwood knew about this child, as he was the first one Baier had as a young man. They are saying he was paid money to say the things he did about his father. Portwood hasn’t commented about the interview directly — only alluded to it on Twitter. Baier went on to suggest that the media has been hounding his children to give reports about him, but they have denied the requests. The son reportedly called his father to discuss with him what would be printed and when.

Fans of Teen Mom OG have been incredibly vocal about their distaste for Matt Baier and his relationship with Amber Portwood. Reports indicated that he had attempted to hit on Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans prior to approaching Portwood. He was a fan of the show prior to reaching out to Portwood, and she was receptive to his comments, which is what began their budding relationship. Baier proposed after just a short amount of time together, and Portwood accepted. They have been planning their fall wedding and plan to spend the rest of their lives together.

Right now, Amber Portwood is busy with life. She is planning her wedding to Matt Baier, flipping houses, and enjoying watching her daughter grow up. The two have been flipping houses as a means of income for them both aside from the money garnered from filming Teen Mom OG. Portwood was recently hit with a tax lien from Indiana for unpaid taxes in the amount of $135,000. Speculation is that it could be from the flipping house business she is doing with Baier, but it could have also been undeclared earnings from other things such as appearances or book signings.

The two are planning to go forward with their plans despite all of the negativity surrounding Baier and his past. Amber Portwood will become his wife in just a few months and is leaving all of the drama behind her.
