‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 10 Episode 1 Premiere, Spoilers: Amy Moves In With Sheldon After Penny And Leonard’s Wedding?

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 premiere, slated to air on Monday, Sept. 19 on CBS, will pick up where the Season 9 finale left off. In “The Convergence Convergence,” Penny (Kaley Cuoco) promised Beverly (Christine Baranski), Leonard’s (Johnny Galecki) mom, that they would have a more traditional wedding, with both their families invited this time around.

While Penny and Leonard ended up finally tying the knot last season, Big Bang Theory fans are still excited about the prospect of having another wedding. As TV Line pointed out, after almost 10 years of having an on-again-off-again relationship, viewers wanted to see a more romantic ceremony. Clearly, a spur of the moment Las Vegas wedding is not enough.

We’ve all seen Leonard’s parents, Beverly and Alfred, and Penny’s dad, Wyatt (Keith Carradine), but we still have yet to meet her mom. Big Bang Theory showrunner Steve Molaro revealed that we might just end up knowing more about Penny’s family, her MIA mother and brothers, when the series returns for Season 10.

Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny on the show, shared that she has always wanted Lisa Kudrow to be her mom on The Big Bang Theory. While the actress admitted that the Friends alum might be a bit too young to play her mother, Cuoco said that her personality would just fit the role perfectly.

“Lisa Kudrow would be so perfect. I’ve said that for years. I think it would be hilarious, plus I’m a huge fan of hers, so it’s a selfish wish.”

In a separate interview with the publication, Molaro admitted that the Season 10 premiere might not put too much emphasis on Penny and Leonard’s second wedding.

“There are so many moving parts that it’s too soon to say. We’ll see how far we can get in one episode,” Molaro shared.

Meanwhile, TV Line also pointed out that it’s about time Penny and Leonard move into their own place. They added that it did not make sense to live apart and pay two rents just to please Sheldon. Now that Sheldon is ready to take his relationship to the next level with Amy, perhaps he will be willing to consider asking her to take Leonard’s place as his new roommate. He wanted to propose to her after all.

“We don’t expect Sheldon to share his bed — coitus is, after all, saved for Amy’s birthday — but there’s no reason for him object to his longtime girlfriend sleeping across the hall.”

Big Bang Theory fans would also like to see more of the Raj-Emily-Claire love triangle. Just when we thought that everything is going well for the guys, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) revealed that he was having second thoughts about Emily (Laura Spencer). It also did not help that he felt attracted towards Claire (Alessandra Torresani), an aspiring screenwriter he met at the comic book store. Even after Raj and Claire started dating, he was secretly hooking up with Emily. Maybe viewers will get to see more of the love triangle in Season 10?

In October, Carter Matt reported that Spencer has been promoted to a series regular. She, however, appeared in fewer episodes in TBBT Season 9 compared to when she was introduced in Season 8.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview on This Morning, Kunal Nayyar hinted that The Big Bang Theory Season 10 could be the last. Nayyar said that the cast is not privy to the show’s renewal.

“I don’t know to be honest, it could be the end, hopefully it’s not… The decisions are not up to us. We’ll see what happens.”
