Jessa Duggar Seewald Admits To Breaking One Duggar Courting Rule With Ben

Jessa Duggar Seewald is now speaking out and admitting something that none of her fans knew. When Jessa and Ben were dating, they were following the courting rules and not kissing or having sex before marriage. This also means having a chaperone and even letting someone else read your messages. It is a way to make it easier to stay pure until marriage. However, Duggar Family Blog shared something that fans didn’t know. She didn’t kiss Ben or do anything too scandalous, but Jessa didn’t follow all of the courting rules.

There is now a new edition of Growing Up Duggar, the book that Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger wrote two years ago. In it, a few secrets are revealed that the girls hadn’t previously shared. However, Jill and Derick did share a couple of small things. Derick revealed that Jill was not his first girlfriend. The entire thing of having a chaperone was new to him, but it looks like Derick didn’t mind. Things worked out great for them. Jill revealed that the setup was all her dad, Jim Bob Duggar. He liked Derick and thought the two should start texting. It was a great setup, and they have worked out just fine.

Now, Ben and Jessa shared a bit more about their relationship.

Ben talked about how great his dad is, saying, “My dad was the one who put a fire under me. He encouraged me to take initiative and to get a job. And he did this long before I met Jessa.”

The fact that Ben knew that working hard was important has probably helped him during his marriage.

When it came to Ben and Jessa Seewald, they did courting the right way for the most part. Jessa did reveal that there was one thing that they mixed up, though. Jessa shared the details.

“The day Ben and I started courting, we began our tradition of calling each other on the phone every night! These were such special times. We would talk about everything from how our day went, to what we had been learning from our Bible reading, and then just anything else that we wanted to talk about. These calls were not ‘chaperoned.’ They were private–just between the two of us.”

Recently, the Hollywood Gossip shared about what Jessa Duggar Seewald recently had to say on Father’s Day. Jessa gave a lot of reason that she feels like her dad Jim Bob Duggar is the best. Jessa discussed the fact that things were tight when they were younger.

“The special times when we went out to eat (yes, we most definitely took advantage of kids-eat-free, the modern day policies of ‘2 children per paying adult’ probably happened because of us??)”

The Duggars are not shy about doing things like this to get a free meal. They all dressed up as pirates to go in and get donuts from Krispy Kreme, but it just looked like a fun time for the family. They have already admitted that they don’t get welfare or anything like that to assist them. With 19 kids, doing it all on their own is pretty amazing. So far, Ben and Jessa Seewald only have one child to take care of.

Are you shocked to hear that Jessa and Ben Seewald didn’t follow all of the courting rules normally set up by the Duggar family? Do you feel like this is a big deal that they changed things up? Sound off in the comments section below, and don’t miss Jill & Jessa: Counting On when it starts to air on TLC. There is no word yet when the new season will start airing.
