Taylor Swift Shifts From Justin Bieber Feud To Selena Gomez Fight?
Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber have feuded for years as a result of his off-again-on-again romantic relationship with her best friend Selena Gomez. But recently, fans were shocked to see Bieber turning to Instagram to share several videos in which he sang along to Swift’s “Teardrops on My Guitar,” noted Seventeen.
Was it an olive branch to end the feud? Justin and Taylor’s long-running feud began when Selena experienced heartbreak over her split from Bieber. Gomez’s best friend then fueled the feud with actions such as shading his performance at an award show and excluding him from the long list of celebrities invited to perform on her tour.
But when Justin posted that Instagram salute to Taylor, she responded to his olive branch. Signaling that she wants to end the feud, the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer responded by “liking” his videos.
With the ending of that feud between Bieber and Taylor, however, comes signs that trouble has erupted between Selena and her supposed best friend. While Swift had a magnificent Fourth of July party, Gomez was noticeably absent, pointed out Hollywood Life.
Taylor’s girl squad flocked around her at her holiday bash throughout the weekend in Rhode Island, but Selena stayed on the West Coast and had her own private party with her own friends. Is there “Bad Blood” between the two?
Showing off her own fun, Selena posted a video in which she strolled through her house. Pals were partying everywhere.
“Hostess vibes. Happy 4th everyone!” wrote Gomez for the caption.
In addition to her walk through her home, Selena showed off her fab abs and whittled waistline in tiny shorts and a figure-flattering sports bra. A hop into her pool completed the demonstration of just how much fun she had at her party without Taylor.
And that wasn’t the only hint that something is off between the two former best friends. Gomez also posted a “Best friends goals” view, and Swift was not included.
ET noted that it appears Gomez has decided to form her own girl squad, minus her former best friend.
For background music for her party with her new girl squad, Selena intriguingly chose “Firework,” which caused speculation about the implications because it’s from Taylor’s supposed enemy Katy Perry. Among those at Gomez’s Fourth of July holiday party, actress Francia Raisa had some fun playing around with Selena at a gas station. Party highlights included dancing in their bathing suits, lighting sparklers, and creating a rainstorm of dollar bills.
Gomez has been busy sharing her music with her fans on her Revival Tour. She visited Denver, Colorado, on July 2 and followed up with Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday.
While Selena partied with her pals, Taylor was busy with a separate group of celebrity friends and her new boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston. Swift also took to Instagram to share her fun.
Her squad, noticeably without Gomez, included Blake Lively, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, Uzo Aduba, Ruby Rose, and Halston Sage.
As for other signs of possible friendship problems between Taylor and Selena, Gomez reportedly has been considering dating Calvin Harris since his split, according to a source cited by Hollywood Life.
Selena supposedly always thought that she would make a great match for Calvin. With Harris now single and free to mingle, Gomez has a chance to fulfill her romantic dreams.
“Selena’s told friends she believes she and Calvin would make a perfect match,” revealed the source. “She always thought Taylor just wasn’t right for him and the breakup confirmed that in her mind. She says she and Calvin would make a better couple…Selena has always had her eye on Calvin.”
As to what might happen if and when the “Bad Blood” singer finds out, the insider revealed that Gomez will “just try to laugh it off.”
