Emily Blunt, John Krasinski Announce The Family’s Fourth Addition On Fourth Of July

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski announced the birth of their second child — the family’s fourth addition overall — on the Fourth of July, according to multiple media reports.

While Emily Blunt and John Krasinski welcomed their daughter Violet into the world two weeks ago, the couple just released the details of the child birth through Twitter on Monday, according to the Huffington Post.

John Krasinski had teased reporters in June who asked about when he and Emily Blunt were expecting the newest addition to their family. “The new addition is soon — yeah, soonish,” the expectant father said to E! News. “We’re very excited.”

Violet is the second girl that Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have in their growing family. In February 2014, the Blunt gave birth their first child. However, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski introduced the world to their first daughter — Hazel — three months later in a similar fashion.

Hazel was not receptive to the newest addition, according to reports leading up to the birth. In those E! News reports, Emily Blunt explained that she and her husband had been working to change the 2-year-old daughter’s opinion of the unborn sibling.

“She sort of dismissed the idea initially and she just responded with, ‘Nope.’ ‘Nope,’ flat out! We’ve bought her every single ‘I’m a big sister’ book that’s out there and she’s a bookworm, so she’s coming around.”

Emily Blunt first began showing when she and John Krasinski took to the red carpet for the Oscars earlier this year. The couple did not reveal either the sex or name of the unborn child. Even a baby shower for the couple in May revealed little information as the cake for the event was pastel blue with pink frosting.

Us Weekly reported on the differences in pregnancies for Emily Blunt between her first and second child in an early March interview, revealing a stark reality change for her most recent pregnancy.

“The first pregnancy is the most self-indulgent thing in the world because you get massages and prenatal yoga and hypnotherapy CDs. During this one I forget that I’m even pregnant. I’m hoisting my 2-year-old around!”

In addition to a new child, the family is also considering moving to a new residence. After putting their home on the market in January, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski recently sold their home and could be looking to move away from Hollywood, according to a Daily Mail report.

“The family are said to be keen to relocate to the East Coast to raise their expanding family and recently sold their Hollywood home to Kendall Jenner. The 20-year-old model splashed out $6.5 million on the stunning property, which features six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a private swimming pool.”

Despite the pregnancy, roles have been rolling in for Emily Blunt. The actress starred in The Huntsman: Winter’s War earlier this year and has several other movies in the works, including Girl On The Train, Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes (2018), and Mary Poppins Returns (2018).

John Krasinski — who is best known for his role on The Office — has several projects in the future. After starring in 13 Hours earlier this year, John Krasinski is returning to the big screen in August with The Hollars. Other projects upcoming for John Krasinski include the film God Particle and Jack Ryan, a TV series where he will star as the title character.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski began dating in 2008 before announcing their engagement in August 2009. The couple married nearly a year later in Como, Italy.
