Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, and Andra Day paid a heartfelt tribute to Christina Grimmie and the 49 people who were killed during the June 12 massacre at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

During Jonas and Lovato’s July 2 ‘Future Now Tour’ stop at Orlando’s Amway Center, Nick and Demi opted to pay tribute to the victims of the recent horrific shootings in the Floridian city with a stunning performance of “Rise Up” with Andra Day.

According to Us Weekly, Lovato and Jonas began their tribute to the victims by inviting the audience to join them in prayer as the word “Orlando” was spelled out behind them.

Nick then invited Andra onto the stage following the almost 3-minute long prayer, where Jonas told the audience that he found Day and the track to be “incredibly inspiring” before he, Andra, and Demi launched into the emotional song.

Backed only by a piano, the names of the 49 victims of the Pulse shooting were displayed on the screen behind the trio as they performed, as well as the name of musician Christina Grimmie, who was shot and killed following a concert in Orlando shortly before the Pulse massacre on June 10.

In addition to the tearful performance, TMZ reported that Lovato and Jonas also arranged a heart-warming gesture for a number of employees who work at the Orlando nightclub.

The site revealed that Demi and Nick invited around 30 staff members to their June 2 concert in Orlando, giving them access to a private suite for the show and even treating the workers to a private meet and greet before Jonas and Lovato hit the stage for the emotional tribute.

The nightclub confirmed Demi and Nick’s big surprise on social media, posting a photo of the group at the concert on Facebook.

“Nick Jonas & Demi Lovato, thank you for making the pulse family smile ?#?onepulse ?#?orlandostrong ?#?pulseorlando,” the social media post read. “We will rise and not be defeated!”

Nick also shared a photo from the emotional moment on his official Instagram account following the show, calling the Orlando crowd “incredible.”

“Orlando you were incredible last night,” Nick captioned a shot of himself and Demi on stage with Day. “Thank you @andradaymusic for helping DEMI and I are honor the victims of the terrible acts of violence recently. #riseup.”

Nick and Demi also opted to honor the victims of the recent shootings in Orlando last month, both taking to social media to express their sadness and horror over the attacks.

“My heart is broken this morning. So much hate in this world,” Nick tweeted out following the Orlando nightclub incident on June 12, just weeks before he hit the road with Lovato. “So many beautiful innocent lives taken last night in Orlando. #PrayForOrlando,” Jonas added.

Nick Jonas also paid tribute to Christina just days earlier, writing on the social media site, “My heart hurts hearing this news.. So terrible. Praying for Christina and her family. #prayforchristina” whilst also posting a snap of himself and the former The Voice contestant on Instagram.

Demi Lovato also expressed her sadness on social media.

“What the f*** is wrong with people,” Demi wrote on Twitter following the news of Grimmie’s death. “#RIPChristina my thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones.”

Lovato also paid tribute to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting just days later, admitting on Twitter that she was “upset” by the horrific event.

“There are no words to describe how upset I’ve been since Orlando,” Lovato wrote on June 14. “I cry for the victims, ache for the families, and have immense admiration for the LGBTQ community and their resolve in absorbing this horror and uniting to stay strong with strength and fearlessness,” Lovato continued.

Demi then added, “Stay strong. We stand with you.”
