YouTube’s Most Impressive Stats Of 2012 [Video Infographic]

YouTube is huge. Okay that might be an understatement — YouTube is HUGE!!! A recent study of the social video network by Video Revolution 2.0 reveals some very interesting numbers from the social video sharing website in 2012.

The video infographic was created by online video expert James Wedmore and includes facts such as these:

  • YouTube has over 800 million unique users.
  • YouTube receives over 4 billion video views … per day!
  • In 2011 YouTube had over one TRILLION video views (just imagine how big that number will be by the end of 2012!).
  • In one minute online there are 100 new accounts created on LinkedIn, 100,000 tweets sent on Twitter, 277,000 log ins on Facebook and 2.8 million videos viewed on YouTube.

If you put those numbers into perspective, YouTube is not only the biggest online video service in the world, it is also one of the top 5 destinations in the world.

It’s pretty amazing that a site that started out with a single video about a trip to the zoo has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry that is capable of standing on its own two feet.

Take a look at the video infographic to understand exactly how big YouTube has become so far in 2012:

With more content being developed for video consumption and YouTube constantly adapting to the newest technologies available on the market, the company’s market share in online video will continue to grow as it nears the 1 billion unique users mark.

Do you think YouTube will soon pass two trillion video views per year?
