Robby Hayes Next ‘Bachelor’? Not Likely After ‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Pulls Social Media Stunt [Report]

Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher is a few weeks away from handing out her final rose, and fans are already wondering who the next Bachelor will be. In recent seasons, ABC’s next leading man was picked from one of the guys who made it to at least the hometown dates episode, so any of the guys who are JoJo’s frontrunners all have a shot at getting the gig.

Throughout the season rumors have surfaced online that several of JoJo Fletcher’s guys came on the show with more interest in becoming the next Bachelor than becoming JoJo’s husband-to-be — one of them being Robby Hayes.

In preview videos released by ABC (below), JoJo is shown questioning Robby about his true intentions, and that is rumored to lead to some problems on the show for the 27-year-old sales rep from Jacksonville, Florida. However, it’s what happened after filming wrapped up that all but confirmed that finding true love was the last thing on Robby’s mind when he joined the Bachelorette cast several months ago.

Joining the cast of the Bachelorette can lead to financial perks from companies who pay popular contestants to promote their products on social media. Gaining a massive amount of followers Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram equates to more money in the pockets of the contestants and other perks as well, including trips and paid appearances.

An even bigger perk for becoming a well-liked cast member is the possibility of landing the gig as the next Bachelor — one that comes with a big payday.

Robby Hayes has been extremely active on social media since he returned from filming the Bachelorette in early May, and it’s clear that he’s trying to draw as much attention to himself as possible, possibly making a play to become the 2017 Bachelor.

In a vain attempt to make himself more popular, WetPaint reports that Hayes recently tried to pay Jade Roper and her husband, Tanner Tolbert, to promote him on their Instagram accounts.

Jade and Tanner, who met on Bachelor in Paradise Season 2 and got married on an ABC Bachelor anniversary special earlier this year, have over one million followers, and are loved by many fans, but Jade wasn’t impressed with the tacky payoff that Hayes proposed.

Although she didn’t name Robby in her tweet, it didn’t take long for blogger Reality Steve to put it all together and figure out that it was indeed Robby Hayes who approached Jade and Tanner.

“The contestant she’s referring to has a name that rhymes with Lobby Mayes… It’s Robby. Been hearing stuff like that for weeks on him. The guy is nothing short of a used car salesman at this point doing everything he can to get people to talk about him and generate interest so he can become the next Bachelor.”

Reality Steve goes on to say that begging Jade and Tanner for help to help promote him is “just embarrassing,” and it’s not going to fare well for Robby when it comes to producers making a decision on who will become the next Bachelor.

“Try as Robby may, I can guarantee you he’s not going to be the next ‘Bachelor,’ no matter how many #TEAMROJO t-shirts he and his family try to sell.”

Robby is rumored to make it to the final two on Bachelorette JoJo’s season where he will compete with Jordan Rodgers for the final rose. If the spoilers are correct, JoJo will send Robby home after questioning him about his recent breakup and her suspicion that he came on the show for fame, not love.

Watch the Bachelorette at 8 p.m. on Monday nights on ABC. Check out the complete schedule for the rest of the season here — the network recently changed the air dates due to the 4th of July holiday.
