Jon Hamm To Become The Next James Bond — Tom Hiddleston Out?

Jon Hamm is said to become the next James Bond. The Mad Men star is already receiving some hefty competition from the likes of fellow actors such as Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Tom Hiddleston.

There have also been rumors swirling that Tom Hiddleston is set to become the net James Bond. The actor is reportedly on a low-carb and high-protein diet to ensure that he gets the role. He even stripped down for a revealing editorial shoot for W magazine and embarked on a whirlwind romance with his new girlfriend, Taylor Swift, that led them to the romantic city of Italy.

Former Bond Girl Joanna Lumley revealed why the actor would make the perfect Agent 007. Lumley gave her input about who should fill Daniel Craig’s James Bond shoes in an interview for her new film, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. She did not comment on the rumors about Hiddleston becoming the next James Bond. Instead, she said that she would love Jon Hamm to get the role.

“Actually, think of him with an English accent wouldn’t he be great? He’d be fantastic,” she said during an interview with Express.co.uk.

She believes that Jon Hamm would be perfect for the job since he’s already physically fit to take on the high-action role. Lumley revealed that she’s quite familiar with the actor’s strong body, and feels that he could handle the pressure that comes with the role.

“I’ve had a bit of a kiss and a feel of the body and it seems fine. He’d be up to it,” Lumley added, talking about their work together in the film Absolutely Famous: The Movie.

Tom Hiddleston is still not out of the running to become the next James Bond. However, Jon Hamm can play a secret agent. He has already proven that in his new film, Keeping Up With the Joneses. But, instead of playing a sexy and single secret agent, he stars in the film opposite Gal Gadot, where they play a married couple who also work as government spies. Also, Hamm has proven that he also looks good in a suit or tuxedo, as seen in past episodes of Mad Men.

According to Screen Rant, Jon Hamm is one American actor who can pull off the suave and sophisticated role. He’s made a career out of it, which is why it has pushed him to the front of the line when it comes to American actors gunning for the role of James Bond. According to the report, Hamm has already pulled off a winning British accent in the dark comedy A Young Doctor’s Notebook alongside Daniel Radcliffe.

There is one role that Jon Hamm is certain to get and it’s to become a live-action version of Sterling Archer, according to a report on the Daily Beast. Even though it’s up to the show’s creator Adam Reed to make the final decision, executive producer Matt Thompson explained why Hamm would be the perfect actor to play hilarious spy.

“It’s Jon Hamm. If Archer goes live-action, I do believe it will be Jon Hamm. Maybe you could do it with Jon Benjamin’s voice coming out of him? I don’t know. Adam is always like, ‘I don’t know if I want the movie to be live-action because I want it to be Jon Benjamin!’ But if it is live-action—and if it is not Jon Benjamin—it is our greatest hope that it would be Jon Hamm. I can say that with confidence.”

However, the details about the next James Bond remain a secret. Tom Hiddleston and Jon Hamm both seem to be big contenders for the role. However, Sony has remained tight-lipped on whether they will continue the franchise after the success of their film, Spectre. In the meantime, Daniel Craig has not confirmed his official departure from the role, even though he has already expressed his disgrace over it, according to MovieNewsGuide.
