No, Calvin Harris Didn’t Shade Taylor Swift On Instagram

Fans are not happy with Calvin Harris. They believe that he’s shaded his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, in his latest Instagram post, according to the latest report in Fashion & Style magazine.

The social media wars between Taylor Swift, 26, and Calvin Harris, 32, all started when she was spotted kissing Tom Hiddleston, 35, in Rhode Island. Since then, Harris has deleted all photos of himself with Swift and un-followed her on Instagram. Then, he re-followed her and his other ex-girlfriend Rita Ora last week.

Calvin hasn’t slowed down with his social media mania. The Scottish DJ has been posting every moment of his life on Snapchat and Instagram. Shortly after he shared some Snapchat photos and videos of himself with a group of women in Cabo, he took to Instagram to post a throwback photo of his 2013 Ivor Novella Award for songwriter of the year.

He not-so-coyly captioned the photo, “Unlike others, I got this for writing words, melodies, and music. This post is for my own sanity. God bless.” However, he removed the part that read “unlike others,” probably to avoid confusion.

Fans speculated that Harris was throwing some shade at Swift, who is an award-winning singer and songwriter. One asked, “Is this shade?” while another added, “I’m detecting shade with this throwback.”

In the post, Calvin pointed out the fact that not only does he write his own songs, but he also writes the melodies and the music. However, it doesn’t mean that Calvin’s post was directed at Taylor. Even though the country-turned-pop singer has worked with major producers like Max Martin, as noted by Seventeen, it’s clear that she writes the lyrics and even produces some of her own songs.

It turns out that Harris wasn’t shading his ex on Instagram. The post was inspired by a Taylor Swift fan who threw shade at the hit maker. It all started when Harris posted the following Snapchat photo of himself surrounded by a group beautiful women. The caption read, “I write songs.”

Then, the fan went on the attack and told Calvin on Twitter that “repeating the same hook after every beat” shouldn’t even be considered the same as songwriting. Ouch. Calvin promptly blocked the fan and took to Instagram to hit back at his haters.

This comes after the news that Harris shared the details about his split with Swift on Instagram. In a series of comments, which eventually were deleted, Harris alleged that his famous former flame controlled the narrative of their relationship and split, as reported by Page Six.

“She controlled the media and this situation, I had no idea what was going on. So that kind of makes it a lot worse from my perspective,” he allegedly wrote, according to E! News.

While Harris admitted that he was now “free” from her control, he revealed why he decided to re-follow Swift on Instagram again.

“I cared too much and then I didn’t care at all. I am a real person after all,” he simply added.

Though a source close to Harris claims that he wasn’t the one who wrote the comments, he exactly hasn’t keep quiet about their split. He previously revealed to TMZ that they are on good terms, even though it appears that Swift has quickly moved on.

“It’s all good, she’s doing her thing,” he told TMZ’s photographers.

But when they caught Calvin entering the gym on another day, they asked him if he would ever take Taylor back, to which he let out a sarcastic laugh. Plus, there’s the TMZ report about Calvin finding it ridiculous that Taylor has already introduced Tom to her parents – and vice versa.
