Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Ready To Reconcile? He Calls Her His ‘Wife,’ As They Rally Together After Family Tragedy
Are Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner on the verge of getting back together?
The two announced their surprising divorce over a year ago and now appear ready to reconcile.
A source revealed to Radar Online that the flooding in West Virginia has brought the couple closer together.
“Jen wants her parents in Los Angeles, but they refuse to leave their home, which has been destroyed,” the insider shared.
Garner’s parents, Patricia and Bill, reside in Charleston.
“Jen’s parents are in a hotel because at home they have no electricity,” the source added.
Garner has asked Affleck to help her parents and other West Virginians affected by the storm.
In addition to Affleck’s help, Enstarz is reporting that Garner is starting a fundraiser in West Virginia.
“Jen was planning a relaxing vacation to West Virginia, but it looks like she’ll forego that to plan a fundraiser there instead,” the insider explained.
Garner is also partnering with Senator Corey Palumbo in order to raise more funds for flooding victims.
According to Ecumenical News, Ben Affleck even called Garner his wife during an interview with Bill Simmons and praised her influence on his career in Hollywood.
“My wife was really instrumental and helpful in me doing a lot of that work because I was just so focused and it was harder to balance family and all that,” Affleck stated.
Although they announced their divorce last year, the Batman v Superman star and Garner still live in the same house together. They also frequently appear in public with the rest of their family.
Despite the promise of getting back together, an insider told People that Garner still wants to go through with the divorce.
“She seems adamant about going through with it,” the source stated.
To complicate things further, Radar Online reports that Garner is holding out in order to generate more stories about Affleck’s unfaithfulness.
A source told the outlet that Garner denies releasing information about their split to the press, despite her comments that confirmed Affleck’s affair with their children’s nanny.
As far as Affleck is concerned, he believes that Garner isn’t finalizing their divorce because she wants to spin more stories.
“Ben thinks Jen doesn’t want to expedite the divorce because she is having so much fun creating stories herself,” the insider noted.
“She definitely has skeletons in her closet that no one has looked into because everyone has been focused on the negative attention she’s drawn to Ben’s demons,” the insider said. “Still, they have agreed to call a truce on making each other look bad. Jen promised to keep a tighter leash on what she and her team say from now on.”
At this time, it’s unclear whether or not Affleck and Garner will ever reconcile. Based on the latest developments in West Virginia, it appears as though they are on the right track.
Meanwhile, CBS Sports is reporting that Affleck made other waves during his interview with Simmons.
Fans watched as a slightly drunk Affleck went off about Tom Brady’s legal problems with the NFL, which include the infamous “Deflategate.”
Later, Affleck took to social media to explain his comments during the interview.
“For those of you keeping score at home, I gave exactly 18 f**ks about my Pats. Upon reflection, 12 probably would have been sufficient,” he wrote on Twitter. “We Boston fans have always been known for our subtlety. One of my favorite interviews; hope you get to see the entire episode. #GoPats.”
