Lisa Marie Presley And Michael Lockwood Divorce Over ‘Money Issues’ And ‘Parenting Problems’
When Lisa Marie Presley announced her divorce from Michael Lockwood, many wondered what happened between the seemingly happy couple? The two were married for 10 years and there were never any reports out there that suggested that they were anything but happy.
Now, after the news broke, we’re beginning to hear some stirrings of what might have gone wrong in the marriage between Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood.
According to People magazine, the split is due to money issues and parenting disagreements. Lisa Marie Presley’s lawyer Ronald Litz spoke to People on behalf of Lisa Marie Presley. “They’re not trying to work it out and get back together. She’s done.”

As for Michael Lockwood, he’s got some pretty serious accusations being hurled at him from Presley’s end. “He apparently was in charge of her assets throughout the marriage and didn’t do what he should have done on a fiduciary basis. He took advantage of her.”
It’s said that they didn’t have a pre-nup but “at one point they did draw up a postnuptial agreement.” Presley’s lawyer insists that he took advantage of her, and that’s not all. As stated, their split is due to an issue in regard to their children, Harper and Finley.
“There are some problems with him being a good father, in terms of what a father is supposed to do. I absolutely believe that what we’re asking for is necessary.”
Despite the allegations, the two haven’t spoken about the separation or what they plan to do going forward. Lisa Marie Presley’s lawyer says that she’s not sure what his reaction is to the allegations. The two have been separated for a month prior to announcing their divorce.

If there was a hint that there was something wrong with the way Lockwood was parenting their twins, it was in the papers that Lisa Marie filed. It’s said that she is seeking full custody of the children, and not partial custody like most people would. As the Inquisitr reported, when spousal support is concerned, Presley doesn’t want “any of his money.”
Presley seemed happy with Lockwood at one point. In a 2007 interview with Marie Claire, the daughter of Elvis Presley said of her relationship, “I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I’ve chased all the crazies down. I was ready to stop the madness. At this age, I really appreciate having [a husband who is] a best friend. But you know, the other guys were fun. For a while.”
In an interview for Oprah’s Where Are They Now, Presley continued to shower Lockwood with kind words.
“He takes care of everything. He picks the musicians. He gets them ready to tour. That’s how we met, so we kind of knew each other that way and fell in love – you know, by just working together. I’m just amazed at how much he takes on and how much he deals with and handles.”
Lockwood had a similar perspective and told Marie Claire in the same interview, “I had been through so many awful relationships before Lisa. I was very cynical. When I met her, I told her I didn’t believe in love… She called me out about it. She said I was a coward. She gave me faith.”
