The Queen of Tejano and Tex-Mex music finally gets her place on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced earlier this week the list of stars from television, music, radio, motion pictures, and live theater that they have chosen as the Walk of Fame Class of 2017.

This past October, M.A.C. Cosmeticspromoted a Selena-inspired makeup line. M.A.C. creative director James Gager explained the inspiration he got from Selena to create the line.

“Selena’s talent and beauty, inside and out, have left a colorful, meaningful impact in the world that has continued to grow over the last two decades.

“We have heard the passion and enthusiasm from her fans and wholeheartedly agree that her legacy embodies M.A.C’s philosophy. We are so excited to announce a Selena-inspired M.A.C. collection debuting in the latter part of 2016.”

The Latina icon released five Spanish albums. She made one English-language album, “Dreaming of You,” which was released after her death. Time Magazine characterized the young Latina singer after the news of her passing, describing how big of an impact Selena made and what an influence she was to so many people.

“Selena was the embodiment of young, smart, hip Mexican-American youth … a Madonna without the controversy.”

Fans around the world could not have been more excited to hear that the Latina songstress would finally deserve the star-studded recognition that she deserved.

Joining Selena in the talented Walk of Fame class is an assortment of silver screen talent, including Chris Pratt, Ryan Reynolds, and Dwayne Johnson, all who have starred in box office hits this past year.

Fellow Latina beauty, actress, and activist Eva Longoria will be honored for her career.

Get ready for an Arrested Development reunion with Jason Bateman and Jeffrey Tambor both being recognized this year.

Also, enjoy a bit of a throwback while the Chamber of Commerce recognizes nineties boy band N’SYNC as they receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Composer Jerry Goldsmith is the other deceased actor that will be honored with a star this year. Goldman is best known for his work in films like The Omen, Alien, and First Blood. He passed away back in 2004.
